Did anyone do their own caliigraphy for their invites?

I am thinking of doing this since I used to do calligraphy in college (about 7 years ago)

How hard was it?
Also what font/lettering style did y ou use? Did you get it online, from a book or make it up yourself?

If anyone has any pictures they could post I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

I know calligraphy as well - but it was too hard!!! We ended up doing them on the computer

I did the calligraphy on a few of them that I didn't get the addresses on until late. They came out very nice. I just picked up a fancy calligraphy pen in a stationary store and tried to make it as nice as I could.

I used this great calligraphy font on the computer ... the invites came out beautiful!

I did it myself...and I think they came out great...

I used the knowledge I had from grade school and adapted it so that it flowed...but I practiced all over the place...

It went very quickly

I was like you- took a course in college about 5 years ago and decided to do it myself. I based it on one of the fonts in a book I still had from the class. I thought it was very time consuming. I think it took me about 4-5 nights, about 3 hours/night. They came out pretty good, but I'm not sure if I'd do it again because it took so long and the hand cramps were not pleasant!

I for one think that handwritten envelopes are a must...it shows the person that you really want the person there and you are willing to take the time and write out their name...

good luck
