Did anyone else get stiffed...

by their inlaws. My FIL and StepMIL did not get us a darn thing for our wedding....Not even a card....and we even had their snottly little kids in our wedding.

These people are by no means broke. They literally live in a mansion and are building a pool with waterfall, jacuzzi, tiki hut, etc. for $100G and are constantly bragging about it.

I can't stand them and do not want to spend any time with them. My DH is embarassed by their greed and selfishness and I feel bad for him.

Unfortunately, we had already agreed to use FIL as our realtor and it pisses me off b/c I really do not feel that we should help them out at all when they have not offered us any help whatsoever!!!

Ugh...sorry...just had to vent!!

Well, other than a really nice rehearsal dinner, we haven't gotten a thing from them yet. But we were very happy with the rehearsal dinner so it's not like we expect anything else, only the inlaws have said a couple of times that they're going to get us something, but the wedding was over 2 months ago!

Sorry that your inlaws are so selfish! That stinks!

Maybe theiy are holding off on your gift and will help you out when buying a house with some money.

my parents helped us out with the wedding- it wasnt much but it was a nice sum of money... i received a lot of gifts in the mail after the wedding...

no gifts from inlaws... or card! not even anything from SIL. The inlaws paid for half of the rehearsal dinner, and that would be good enough for me (except for a card) but they had told us they were going to give us some money towards the wedding, but then changed it to that they were going to give it to us after the wedding..... ok still waiting.

im pretty annoyed that we didn;t get anything from SIL, she WAS the MOH and shelled out some money, but none of it was for her brother really. so that sort of stinks. At least a card would have been nice.

We did!!! They told us it will take a few months but the way I see it is we were engaged for 2 years, we didn't ask you for crap, you came with your family of 6, invited 40 people I didn't know, and had 'special dance' with my FIL and his sisters which has no business happening at anyone's wedding, especially not mine, the absolute LEAST you could have done was put something aside for our gift. Or go out and buy a card. But you know what? F**** it, because now when they call for this favor or that favor, we're busy!

OMG, I thought I was the only one. I can't believe that this could possibly happen to so many couples. What on earth are these people thinking that they can't pick up a $2 card???
