Did anyone get a dress from David's Bridal?Is it safe to get alterations from there?

My dress is ready and I made an appointment to go for my first fitting. I heard a few bad things on them doing alterations so I would like to get some feedback.

got my dress there...

but I was told to forgo getting the alterations there. I dont rememeber exactly why ( 2 years ago!) but it was something along the lines that the cost was exceptionally high and they are like a mill...so there isn't any real personal attnetion.

I recieved a recommendation for a dressmaker in my old neighborhood in bklyn. She worked out of her home and was FANTASTIC. Very personal touch - and didnt cost too much.

Try to ask around if amyone can recommend someone in your neighborhood. Ask everyone- as u never know who may have the information.

Even check your yellow pages for fabric stores in your area and then go there and ask.

A friend of mine bought her dress there

and had the alterations done there too. She wasn't really pleased with the way they turned out. When she went back for repeated fittings, they never seemed to get it just right. This was about 3 years ago, so maybe things have changed. Good luck.
