Did anyone have a 'U' shaped set up for the bridal shower??

Did anyone have a 'U' shaped set up for the bridal shower??

My MIL wants to do the horse shoe shape for my SIL's shower but we cant figure out how many CP's to do!! She says 12. Its only going to be 40 people MAX. I say 8 is more then enough.
How many cp's did you have?? If anyone has any pictures of the setup I would love to see!

We had a U-shaped setup at my best friend's shower (also about 40 people) and I think we had about 9 cp's - one on the BP table and 4 on each side.

I had a U-shaped shower for my friend. We had 30 guests and had 5 centerpieces. Two on each side and one in the front, next to the bride-to-be.

my best friend's family hosted my bridal shower at their home, and they set up a U-shaped table. I thought it was nice - very communal and I was able to talk to everone all at the same time for the most part I just so happen to have a pic of how it was set up (Thanks Shutterfly!) kinda blurry, but shows the centerpiece and seating layout pretty well.

ETA - I think there were 30 guests and we had 5 centerpieces, two on the side tables and one in the middle.
