Did Anyone have to do this for your wedding...

We have / had all the money to pay for our wedding in CASH, ahh, but now we are buying a house and have to take 1/2 of that money for the down payment....Did ANYONE have to take a cash advance on a credit card(s) to pay for a vendor(s) and then pay it back after the wedding gifts? I think we will have to do that for the photog, everything else I think we can manage, but honestly this is killing me-taking a cash advance, i haven't done that in 18 years!

Re: Did Anyone have to do this for your wedding...

why not try asking for a loan from a family member - it will save you the high interest rate- cash advances have really high interest rate

A little bit lower interest is sally given for overdraft on bank account- you talk to your bank to see if you can have credit tied to your checking account

We did it for a small expense - 700 total.

I paid it off immediately before the statement even closed. The charge was $1.65 because my CCard had a low interest incentive (4%). Maybe shop around with your existing cards and see if you can do the same...

also keep in mind, most photographers done require full payment until you pick up the proofs.
Maybe you can see if you can give a smaller payment before and a larger one after the wedding due to the buying a house.
