Did anyone NOT go away for their first anniversary?
If you stayed in NY what did you guys do to make it really special. We are going away 2 weeks AFTER our 1st anniversary but considering it our first anniversary trip. However, we really want to make the day of special.
I am just curiouse: what did you do?

Dh isn't allowed to travel more then 250 miles from our home without taking leave. So since we live in Corpus Christi we spent the weekend in San Antonio. We woke up and ate our cake and then he suprised me with his plans for an expensive suite with a hottub over looking the alamo and we just went all out for two days and one night! We also went to Sea World.

We havent decided what for our one year anniversary. Every year we have gone to Trinidad for carnival, this is the first year we DIDNT go because we just got back from our honeymoon and dh couldnt take a whole month off of work, we are bummin because carnival day was today and we couldnt go, so we said next year for sure we will go again, but then what about our anniversary? We cant ignore it, so Im thinking we'll do carnival and then in the summer we'll celbrate our anniverary, it wont be anywhere near the date of our wedding, but atleast it give us an excues to go somewhere great.

We didn't go anywhere either for our first anniversary. We had too many other things going on at the same time that we just couldn't blow off. We went out to dinner at our favorite restaurant and just had a quiet evening together.

We live upstate but we went to the Winery's on Seneca Lake and then DH suprised me with a Dinner Cruise around the Lake.

We also didn't go way for our first anniversary. We went out to dinner, watched our video and ate our cake. It was a nice quiet, romantic day.

Margaret, my GF got married right near Seneca Lake. Her pics were beautiful!!
We didn't go away, being that is was a holiday weekend (Columbus Day), everything was too expensive and needed a 3 night minimum. Instead we went to Smithtown Landing, took some pictures, and spent the afternoon and evening with my BIL and SIL, niece, and twin nephews. They made us dinner, it was a nice day even though we didn't go away!

We didn't do anything! We had a baby 10 days prior, and moved into our new place, 8 days prior to our 1st anniversary! We celebrated with the gift of our little girl. I do feel bad that we didn't get to go away, but maybe we'll make up for it in the future!

We are not going to go 'away' but we love to go out to the NorthFork of Long Island. There is a lot to do out there in Greenport and visiting all of the Wineries.

we are definitely not going away as $$ is really tight. our anniversary is on a sunday, so we will probably just treat ourselves to a really nice dinner.

We didn't have an anniversary yet, but going away for a day trip may be a fun and romantic idea...
Last year we went to the Hampton in April and stayed at a B&B, and it was nice just to relax and not do a whole lot, just the few things that we really wanted too

Mine is still 9 months away...and we've talked about going to Disney...but, who knows...we're looking to buy a house in a few months...so, it may not be the best thing to do. We'll see though...
If I wasn't going away...I'd go to the restaurant we got married at...well, we got married at the Milleridge Cottage and since they don't do just dinner there, we'll eat at the Milleridge Inn instead.

We won't be going away-my due date is 5 days before my 1 year anniversary so don't think it's a good time

We spent the day together then got dressed up and went to dinner where we had our wedding and took lots of pics, exchanged gifts, etc. It was actually pretty romantic!

I don't think we will be going away, but we will celebrate it someway. It is still 7 months away, so we have some time to decide on how we wantto plans it. As long as we spend the day together, I don't really care what we do.
