How do I go about doing this???

I did, but my friend who works for Newsday did all the work for me, so I don't know how you should go about it.

I called and asked them - they mailed me this HORRIBLE barely legible form that looked like it'd be copied 100 times! LOL

Anyway, you fill it out and return it with a picture, and they'll print it. If you want the photo returned, include a SASE and be sure to write your home address on the back of the photo in case it gets separated. The woman who worked with me was nice and helpful.

The Coral House does this for me for free when I pick a picture, they will also put it in the Daily News for us.

I was going to do this with our engagement and wedding announcement but IMHO, it wasn't at all worth it. It's (I think) $40.00 or so and doesn't grauntee (sp ?) that it'll definitely be published. Plus, I didn't want it to be publicized as many people in my mother's neigborhood are too nosy and gossipy. However, to each their own.

I believe you need to contact the newspaper for all the details on how to go about to publish your engagement or wedding announcement.

We did too, and yep, Newsday sent us that barely legible form. I felt like redoing it and sending them the new new file!

Ours was free, and it went in. The only catch is they tell you it has to be in by 30 days after the wedding.

Jenn: The daily news had your photo in it? Is there a LI Daily News or is this the NY one? Ive never seen announcments in there. They have a half page wedding feature where they profile one wedding but it changes every week. Are you going to be in this weeks DN?

Vicki you are TOO funny - my thought exactly! How busy are they that they couldn't retype the stupid form??!!

Anyway, the announcement was at no charge. I wouldn't have put it in for $$!!
