A friend of mine told me that her father read an article in Newday (she thinks Sunday, Feb. 3rd) that said don't buy a home now they are going to drop in 6 months? I've been on the Newsday site trying to find this article - and I can't find anything that says this - did anyone else happen to see this?
Please let me know - I'm just curious on what it said -

There was an article awhile back on the future of real estate on LI, but I don't recall it specifically saying don't buy a house for 6 months because prices will drop. I think it was more a general softening of the market a bit IF the economy doesn't recover.
They rose for awhile, then spiked, then dropped, and if you go to bankrate.com you can track it. The NY rates are mirroring the national rate, but are slightly higher (of course!)
We're getting ready to lock in. When we applied in December we were quoted 6.75 then they rose to 7 1/8 but last check they were 6 7/8 and that was before this past week's decline, so I'm hoping we can get back to the 6.75.
