Did Anyone Skip the Wedding Pictures in the Thank You Notes?
I'm curious, did anyone not put a wedding picture in their thank you notes? Maybe including the photos isn't a big NJ thing. Most of my family & friends are from that area, and I have received a few of these over the years, but usually I didn't get one.
So, I had not planned to include them, but the more I read, the more it sounds as if most people do them or expect them.

No, we didn't include pictures in our thank you notes. We ordered the notecards that coordinated with our invitations and used those. Out of the 10 or so weddings I have been to in the last couple of years, I think I got TYs with pics from 2 or 3

I have only ever received 1 thank you that did NOT have a photo.
We felt kind of crummy about it...like we weren't important enough for the 30 cent wallet sized photo.

we did ty's with our picture on them and i sent magnets with our picture to folks who were part of the wedding. we're going to send out the wallet with our x-mas cards.

My photography contract included the TY cards with pics so we had pics in our TY's but we would have ordered them anyway. I love getting TY cards with pics.

my mom actually got a bunch of nice shots of DH and i with her digital camera, so i went to walmart and made a bunch of copies of that for 19 cents each and put one in each of the thank you notes... and we had a bunch of people tell us how nice it was to get a picture with the ty note..... it doesn't have to be a profssional one- just a nice shot of you guys

I like to receive the pics with the TY cards and have always expected to receive one. THe last wedding we went to, I was surprised not to get one But then again, it was an Upstate NY wedding and very simple, so after thinking about it, it wasn't a surprise.

I think it's a NY thing, I have only received pictures from some of the weddings I have been to in NY. Out of the 23 weddings I have been to in the past 8 years, I think I only received a picture in three of them.

Okay, it does sound like a NY/Long Island thing. Since this was not included in our contract, and I don't think most of our guests will expect it (most are not from this area), we probably will skip it. I wanted to get some feedback from others though, so thank you.
The photo print suggestion is a great one, but we didn't get any decent prints of ourselves from the disposable cameras. Some nice pictures of our guests though.

We only included them in some - close friends and family. It would have been an additional cost to get them from the photographer and I didn't think it was a necessary expense. If someone wanted a picture of us, all they have to do is ask!

We included them. I knew it would have been expected in our familes, but the are all from this area. My dad's co-workrs had never seen such a thing before!
I only received a card without a picture once & it annoyed me, b/c it still took them 8 months to do it & I later found uot they DID send a TY picture, just not to us (the groom's college friends)
Sending them to some people & not others, is worse then not sending them at all. Also, if you are NOT sending pcitres, send the thank yous right away.

It is a NY thing. I have not received a photo thank you from any wedding I have gone to outside of NY. We did the photo thank yous, since they were in our package, but I don't think it is such a big deal.

i definitely think that its a fading tradition but we're going to still do it. i like to get the wallet size photo

We didn't send out the picture in the thank you cards. They were part of our contract but we didn't get them until last month. I was thinking of sending them out at Christmas time but that seems really weird--it would be about a year and half since the wedding.
Since its only two weeks since our one year anniversary, I was thinking of putting together a simple card to send to people who attended the wedding saying that we have such fond memories of the wedding and thanking them again for coming.

I answered NO because of the topic question to see that the poll question is worded different. YES we are sending one, I love to receive them too.
