I am almost at the 3 mth mark and still haven't changed my name. I wasnt really in a rush to do it but also just don't have time to make it to the SS office and DMV. I was thinking this might cut down on some of the time. Should I not bother?

i printed the forms for the DMV & SSA online before going.. it was a pretty smooth process
ETA: For the DMV i used this form-- For Name/Address Change Only ** You need to use another form if your changing your reg too
I have heard it is not really worth it. I did it all myself and it wasn't as overwhelming or confusing as I thought it would be.

I bought it and it was a COMPLETE waste of money. Worthless. Like taking $20 and throwing it in the toilet.
Everything they can do, you can totally do all by yourself with no hassle at all. Which I, ironically, did, despite filling it all out online and trying to use their service. Complete waste.

i would just do everything yourself.. i just began the process and i needed to take a day off to go down to SS and the DMV but at least its over with!! as soon as my SS card comes in then i'll change everything else @ work, credit cards, bank, etc..

I just did it at the SS.. it was sooo easy.. the office in Queens opens at 7 am and I was out of the door at 7:30

i went to jamaica yesterday- got there at 8 was out in 1/2 hour. then i went to the whitestone dmv and was there about 45 min.

I won it from LIW... would not have used it otherise. Its nice that you enter your info once and then can just print the forms all fill out... but you still have to go the DMV and send then or go to SS. I don't think its worth spending money on..... it really didn't save me more than the few minutes to fill out a form.
