DID ANYONE WEAR SLINGBACKS????

Hi,
I am about to be married (in 11 months) and I need to start lookng for shoes.
I would like to wear slingbacks. Is it true the dress gets 'caught' inside the back of the shoe?I need your newlywed advice!
Thanks,
Jennifer

Re: DID ANYONE WEAR SLINGBACKS????

I wore slingbacks for my wedding 3 weeks ago. I wore them around the house fro a month breaking them in and never had a problem.

Then the morning of the wedding, with my huge dress on, the first hour I was wearing them, the dress didn't get caught in them, but what did happen was the stupid strap kept coming off the back of my heel, and I had to have one of my bridesmaids bend down to pull it back up around my heel.

By the time I was at the reception, the problem wasn't happening anymore. It was weird. But I loved them and got through the day all right with them.

yep-

and I had no problem. I prefer wearing backless shoes so it was a good fit!

Best of luck!

Re: DID ANYONE WEAR SLINGBACKS????

I tried on & 'broke in' my sling backs for a couple of weeks around the house wearing regular nylon knee highs...no problems. Then the day of my wedding, I wore sheer silk hose and the sling slid off with each step. I would have never made it down the aisle. Luckily a resourceful sight mgr at the place we did our pre-ceremony pics, had ribbon and tied the sling around my ankle. Only a couple of times on the video could you actually see the make shift strap!
Be sure to try on & break in with the same type of hose you will wear on the big day! Also, I suggest you get an adjustable sling with a buckle. Mine just had a bit of elastic and I think I actually stretched them out when breaking them in. Good Luck!!!!
