Did you exchange wedding presents? Details, please!!!

Here's my story to kick it off ....

Vinnie got 2 gifts ... engraved Tiffany's cufflinks ... the guys got Tiffany's but not engraved. Vinnie was sad b/c they all had them except him! I was of course not going to let him get married w/o a pair of his own!

Then: He's needed a watch so badly, so I bought a Baum & Mercier. Not quite the Rolex he wanted, but he'll have to wait for that!

We said that we weren't going to exchange gifts, but I had to give him something since:(1) he didn't get something for our engagement & (2) my rings were so beautiful & he'd spent an arm and a leg.

I sent Vinnie's gifts home with him disguised as Christmas gifts from my mom to his. There were instructions included for her to call me when she got the bag & I told her that I wanted her to give them to him in the AM when he was dressing & to take pics! She gave me the pics when they picked us up from the airport. They were fabulous!

We exchanged gifts. My DH got me diamond studs and a diamond heart necklace to wear the day of. When he asked what I wanted for christmas, I told him nothing since he went all out with the wedding.

I got him a dress watch, nothing fancy, but nice.

I got Al a pair of silver cufflinks, and he got me a Tiffany mirror compact engraved with the same thing thats in our wedding bands.

We gave the gifts to each other on our 5 year anniversary, a week before the wedding.

We exchanged the night before the wedding. I gave Mike engraved tiffany cufflinks and I got a three stone diamond necklace! He did good!!!

I bought DH white gold cufflinks... left them on the pillow after i made the bedbefore i left, with instructions not open till morning.. unfortunatly, DH is not the romantic type so i didnt get anything.. oh well, my ring is sooo pretty and its the one i wanted so i call that my gift!

Cute story and surprise christmas!

We both said we weren't going to exchange gifts too. He pretended he forgot the conversation and bought me a gorgeous diamond baguette tennis bracelet !!! I love it. He hid it in the shower in the monring before our wedding. I did buy him cute cufflinks that said I do..but it was just a cute gift! I had given him a (surprise) Tag watch as an engagement gift the day of our engagement dinner and he loves it. I just loved my engagement ring so much I wanted to get him something nice in exchange!

I did surprise him for Christmas and got him a 50' tv. I told him it was is combined Christmas wedding gift!! We don't usually spend a lot of money on each other for Christmas gifts.

We got our rings engraved-we were both surprised. DH got me a pair of diamond earrings, they look like a flower, antique-y looking. I've been wanting something for everyday & they are perfect.
I got Rich a pair of tiffany cufflinks as well.
We splurged on dinners & suites on our HM so that was a gift to both of us!

I gave hubby a pair of sterling silver cuff links and he got us matching african garb.

Here he is on the wedding day about to put them on

Here we are at a party of another LIW young lady/bride after party wearing the matching outfits that hubby got us

I just have to add this one, b/c I was so proud of hubby, he learned to tie the head wrap in the store, the lady taught him and he did such a good job

We exchanged gifts and promised each other we weren't going to spend a lot of money. So I bought him a jar and filled it with little slips of paper that had over 100 reasons why I loved him and memories of our past.
He bought me an ankle bracelet with our initials engraved in it since I had lost the one he gave me a few years ago, and I really wanted another one. So he went over our spending limit!
We exchanged the night of our Rehearsal Dinner.

My DH bought me Mikimoto pearls to wear on the wedding day, and I bought him an engraved pocket watch. I secretly did not want his big 'ole dress watch in our wedding pics. But, the pocketwatch and the pearls will be family heirlooms someday...

Scott gave me beautiful white gold diamond earrings and I gave him engraved Tiffany cufflinks. We also got each other really beautiful wedding-day cards. We gave them to each other the night before the wedding, after the rehersal dinner when we were alone. It was a very nice moment for us to share.

We got each other Moshood (brooklyn based designer) african garb. However it was exchanged before the wedding. I wore mine two night before our wedding to a guyanese celegration called a que-que; and he wore his on our honeymoon in Jamaica. I will have to look for some pictures.

Natasha, I loooooooooooooooove Moshood. I own a few pieces. Do you know the designer Nigerian Fashion and Fabrics??
