Did you feel different after the wedding?

Did you feel different after the wedding?

My friend who lived with her husband before they were married said she felt nothing had changed after they were married.
I feel SO different. I am more in love than ever and I feel so close to DH. I didnt think it was possible but it is.

How did you all feel? Or am I just on a NEW newlywed high?

There is definitely a new Newlywed high that lasts a long time. I still get pangs of it once in a while! The wedding did bring us MUCH closer. He's my HUSBAND, it's (the feeling) so much more!

I think your friend is weird.......

We did not live together before the wedding so
living together--being husband and wife-- it's a complete newlywed high. We feel, I don't know...more bonded. We're a family now. :)

I feel differently. Our love feels stronger, deeper. I too didn't think I could be more in love - but I am!!

I catch myself just gazing at him now. Picturing him older, as my forever partner, as a father to my children...etc.

We both keep saying we want this feeling to never end! I think there are ways to keep falling in love over and over...I'm looking forward to the journey.

oh yeah, and I feel more sane. I'm glad the insanity is over.

Re: Did you feel different after the wedding?

People ask me almost every day if I feel different - and although I know that I love my DH I really don't feel 'different' and he says the same thing!

We didn't and still don't exactly live together, but we spend almost every minute together when we're not at work. Unfortunately, with our situation, neither of us have room to move in 100% with the other and since we are moving to NC August 1st, it's silly to rent a place here on LI.

I gaze at my wedding band all the time and remember our beautiful wedding, but it feels like it was a year ago, not 2 weeks ago It's very odd. Maybe once we move to NC and then buy our 1st house, we will feel different. I dunno

I feel about the same. I've been with DH for 8 years, lived together for over 5 years and while I feel so much in love with him, everything is the 'same'.

We get up at the same time still every day, and go to work. We come home to each other as we did before. We cook dinner, eat, watch tv, relax, clean, take out the garbage, do laundry, go to the movies, maybe to a family BBQ or something. It's ALL the same stuff that we do. Nothing about that has changed or is different. There's no 'newness' as far as sleeping habits, and bathroom privledges, etc etc....like you would find with a couple that just moved in together.

Having a partner for life feels a little different. But in all honesty, we've been together so long, it always felt like we were partners for life.

There is definitely a newlywed high though. At least for us. We get all giddy over our wedding bands and we clink them together while saying 'wonder twin powers activate', like true dorks. And we call each other husband/wife, instead of honey/dear/sweetie or our names. That's fun and that's different.

Re: Did you feel different after the wedding?

Honestly I am still debating all that.
I really didn't think I would feel any different, we lived together for 4 years before getting married, and already were like an 'old' married couple. But, I really DO think I feel a bit different. I feel MUCH more commited. I have a husband now, and now, I approach problems as ones that have to be solved. Before, I always second guessed myself, and constantly considered 'leaving' rather than sticking it out and solving problems. Now, I know I have made a commitment, I know I love him and he is my HUSBAND. I think for me, I became much more 'serious' about our relationship.

We didn't live together first so the first few months were very difficult. Now that things have settled down, I have this sense of calmest. I feel very secure and I'm more in love with DH as each day passes. Not to say there aren't days where I still say, 'What the F*** did I do'

Yesterday I got two phone calls asking for Mrs. Wood. I felt so grown up

I definitely felt different. I felt closer to him and in love all over again. It really felt like we were starting a new stage in our lives. Still do feel like a newlywed too...

We didn't live together before so it was great coming home together as husband and wife for the first time to our home.

I felt different after the wedding - because we never lived together before and we were finally out on our own making our own decisions, plans etc....

It was a pleasant adjustment though!
