Did you have many 'late arrivals' at your wedding?

Did you have many 'late arrivals' at your wedding?

I had several family members enter the church halfway through the ceremony. I know they didnt mean to be late, but it was annoying.

no. I think I actually told people that I would have an usher blocking the door once the ceremony started. Some of DH's cousins are NOTORIOUS for being late. Like, they missed our entire rehearsal dinner, showed up after it ended, and then rounded a bunch of family members up and took them out to a bar

There may have been, but I don't remember seeing them come in. I do know that I was waiting outside the church (instead of in the limo) and people saw me as they came in and waved hi.

Not to the church, but DH's cousin and her husband arrived to the reception as we were lined up to be announced...totally missed CH - not to mention the church! But it was a Friday and we were BEYOND happy so we didn't care.

At my ceremony, yeah, ME. I was 45 minutes late!! At the reception, my DH's dumb arse sister came an hour and a half late and then didn't even say hi or congrats to me on her walk to the coat check when walking right passed me. It was kinda obvious who I was, I was in a big white poofy dress.

A bunch of Dh's friends are terrible with timing and are always late. They actually showed up at the hall right as I was getting ready to walk down the aisle and they felt terrible that I saw them walking in late.
I was glad they did though - because it was great to see them!

No, we wrote on the invitations that the ceremony was starting at 11 when it was actually starting at 11:30. It was necessary, because DH's family ALWAYS runs late.

My guests! We also wrote 1/2 hour earlier for the ceremony (church was empty) and 1/2 hour for the reception...yeah, people didn't care!

If we did, I never noticed.

YES! We got married on the day that tanker exploded on Sunrise Highway, so a LOT of my guests were walking in, basically at the same time as me! lol My grandmother, unfortunately finally got there as DH and I were walking OUT of the church, just at the end of the ceremony. But, nothing I could do--gotta love Long Island Traffic!

Yes, a few people got lost and were late and very upset about it.

I had one late arrival. My grandmother, my aunt and uncle. They went to the wrong church. So they showed up late to the church.

We had a good handful who walked in after us, and a few who missed the ceremony all together I think. But, it was at 5:00 on a Friday night in June and it had poured early on in the day so there was a lot of traffic. I felt bad but I wasn't annoyed at people, jut LI traffic. I laughed as my dad and I were standing by the door to go in and I was waving to the guests standing in the foyer.

I can tell from pictures ( but I didn't know at the time) that DH's aunt, uncle & cousins are walkign in behind his granparetns. All guests were supposed to be seated at that time.

We had friends show up late who watched from the vestebule of the church.

My Unlce/Godfather came all the way from Atlanta for my wedding & then missed the ceremony, b/c he got stuck in traffic from where he was staying in Manhattan.

A few other friends I think missed the ceremony all togther & as did some of MIl's freinds, but I'm not sure if that was intentional on their part.

And this was 4 pm on a Saturday, so I'm not sure why so many people missed it. Poor planning, I guess.

One... my co-teacher and she lives practically within walking distance to the Watermill.

The processional had already started and I was on the steps (outside of the Astor Suite). I wasn't very pleased... oh, and I wrote 15 minutes early which means she left AFTER the time I wrote on the invite.

If my uncle hadn't had his three adult kids, their spouses and 12 KIDS stay at his tiny home with one bathroom the night before they would have all been late. Thanks Uncle George I can't imagine the use that bathroom got that morning

we had a ton of latecomers but I had my DOC and ushers close the doors until the processional was over before letting any of them in. I was at a wedding once where guests came in and sat down in the middle of the processional right before the bride came out! It was such a shame!
