Did you honeymoon in St. Lucia?

I am not a newleywed yet (next weekend I will be) but I figured you girls would be able to answer my question the best. What did you bring with you on your honeymoon? We are staying at the Sandals Grande for a week and I have no idea what we need. Are dinner dressy? Does FH need a jacket or are polo's and button downs ok? Thanks.

Re: Did you honeymoon in St. Lucia?

Hey!!! You are my twin!
I got married at Woodbury, in October, and went to the Grande!
You have to bring dresses and skirts. Thats what everyone wears every night... Not fancy dresses though, sundresses are fine.
DH should bring khakis and polo shirts. Maybe a long sleeved button down, but it is really warm even at night.

ETA: My Dh brought a suit with him, however he NEVER wore it...

Re: Did you honeymoon in St. Lucia?

some of the restaurants have a dress code, so be prepared...but it's mostly pretty casual....sundresses and khakis should cover most of the restaurants....but we did see one couple who was asked to leave and come back because he was wearing shorts and they weren't allowed

Re: Did you honeymoon in St. Lucia?

Thanks for your help. I don't own that many sundresses. Do you think nice pants would be ok?

Pants are fine. When we were a the Grande everyone was pretty casual...a tiny bit dressy but not overboard.

Re: Did you honeymoon in St. Lucia?

Your getting married on my 1 year anniversary!! And we went to the Grande too!!!

I would def. bring a dress, and your (soon to be) DH should bring pants and shoes, they don't let you wear shorts at dinner.

I would make sure to bring bug spray, I got eaten alive by sand fleas walking on the beach at night, and the gift shop can be a bit expensive.

Also, my bed wasn't that comfortable, and I heard you can ask the concierge for a pillowtop mattress, and they will put that on for you.

Make sure you have dinner one night at the Italian restaurant at the Grande (forget the name now! Marios?), excellent food, and I think better than the one you need to make resy's at the Halycon, by thats just my opinion!

Have the BEST time, have a Fabulous wedding day and best of luck to you and your FI!!
