I tipped the day of and if all goes well, I will tip him again when I get the proofs and final album.

At my last appointment I asked him about this. Since he is an owner, he said NOT to tip him. Instead, he said to tip his 2 assistants the day of the wedding.

We didn't tip either because it was his business.
