Today is the 6-month anniversary of me quitting smoking. I am SO proud of myself!

Thank you It's been difficult and I know that I am not the type that can just have one here and there ... July 3 had to be the last one for me. But overall I know it was the best decision I ever made, and DH is thrilled since he's a non-smoker to begin with.
Plus, with the weather yesterday and today - I am ecstatic I no longer smoke. I cannot IMAGINE subjecting myself to a cigarette outside in this mess - but I know I would have done it if I had never quit!
FH got me to quite cold turkey when we first started dating... and surprisingly i havent had one since... that was 8 1/2 years ago... i started smoking when i was 12.... and I quit when i was 20...
I quit a few weeks before 9/11 i knew if i could make it past 9/11 and not need one i could go the rest of my life...
fyi... i still have a dream once a month that I smoked and i wake up in a panic... but other than that I havent had the urge for one in about 6 years
Good for you! That's an amazing accomplishment and I hope that you are proud of yourself!

CONGRATS! I quit New Years of 2006! So I celebrate as well!
Congrats- 6 months is fantastic. You go that long and you can seriously say that it's over!

Wow, thanks so much girls! It is nice to have some positive reinforcement from someone other than DH! (Many people in my 'real' life did not know I smoked!)
