Digital parent albums - xpost

Has anyone made their own leather-bound digital album online?

Our parent albums were not in our contract so we're trying to get ideas for making our parents digital albums online using our photographer's proofs... I know you can make photobooks online but the paper is thin and magazine quality... I pretty much am looking for something that looks like it came from a professional photographer studio lol is that even possible to find online?

the only places your going to get photography quality (backing on the paper, books that are perfect bound) that I know of is if you become a vendor. I became an authorized vendor at a few album companies but I have my own freelance business so it kinda worked for me but its still like $175-$200 for the album which to me (my opinion) is very pricey for parent's album.

Honestly blurb is pretty good. The binding is not perfect bound and it is glued and not stitched in but its a nice book. The paper is a tad bit thicker but certainly not as thick as when the put the backer on it.

Petey's bride who did some of this kind of work had posted the below which I saved for reference since I might make secondary album for us. I looked at some of the sites and picaboo seems to have a lot of layout options.

here's what she said:

-Picaboo (my fave for best layout and background options, AMAZING customer service and nice covers. Price is higher than some but you get so much more for your money. Our original wedding album wa susing mostly their templates.)
-Snapfish (GREAT quality-pages are so thick and glossy- and BEST gurantee-110%- but the share feature online is a pain. Price ok. Big books can be as pricey as shutterfly but they gurantee perfection and your satisfaction or money back or reprint PLUS 10% off next order.)
-Blurb (GREAT quality and easy to use-cheap too if you wnat many pages. They charge in price ranges depending on the number of pages)
-Shtterfly (used this for a bride. Didnt love the layouts and if I was going to pay this much I'd use snapfish.)
-Qualityphotobooks (Good quality. Easy interface. Well priced)
-Kodak (never used)
-MyPublisher (personally not a fave because they dont have great layout options and CS was EH with me. Cue a PITA)
