I am writing to ask your opinion about what I should do....
We picked up our wedding video this week from the photographer and were VERY disappointed. with the edited video. The quality of the video was appalling. To start, the videos came in a regular jeweled cd case you'd buy at Staples, and a picture of us was printed on regular old paper, our faces were smeared-looking and unclear. The baby pics, couple pics, and honeymoon pics that were scanned onto the video were very poor quality (i.e. faces and eyes are distorted, pictures unclear). The editing was poor with editing lines evident a couple of times. Oh and to boot- on three separate occasions during the video, you get the pleasure of hearing the photographer talking. It showed the every minute of first dance, daughter-father dance, and son-mother dance (BORING!)- more than 15 of 40 minute! Yet they only showed 3 minutes of the ceremony! My husband and I are very unhappy and want to do or say something to the photographer, but I need your help about what to do/where to start.
Sorry this is so long, but I thank you sincerely for your help!

Re: Disappointed with video, need advice
Do you know of any other brides who used this photographer? Can you find out if the quality of your video is the same as theirs. They might have had a new videographer or editor. Either way, I would mention this to your photographer to see if you can get a refund. Honestly I don't expect much from my videographer since we only paid $500 for video. The fact that your scanned photos are blurry is not acceptable though.

thank you! I know a lot of bride's that used the photographer, but I'm not sure who also used the videography (except for a 2006 bride who was very popular a few years ago)

Re: Disappointed with video, need advice
DH has his own filming company. I showed him your post and he asked if you had seen any demos of their work before booking. If so, and there is a marked difference, you did not get what you paid for. DH suggests using this point to frame your refund request. I'm sorry that you waited so long and are now unhappy. How anticlimactic...and annoying. You definitely need them to redo it or get your money back and take the raw footage elsewhere. Good Luck!

Re: Disappointed with video, need advice
I want to take the raw footage somewhere else, or have a friend re-do them, however it stinks that we spent all that $$$. I was just looking up a past bride's video (the beautiful Camacho),the video the photographer often shows new couples. Hers is amazing of course! Ours doesn't come anywhere close to comparing!

Re: Disappointed with video, need advice
The first thing I would do i make a formal complaint and ask if it can be fixed or better editted. Did your package come with editting? There are two types of editting, I cant remember the names...but one is basic, the other is advanced. Which did you have?

Re: Disappointed with video, need advice
I would definitely say something but go into it calm and collected. Call them and tell them you'd like to meet with them to discuss the video - you are very unhappy with the quality and would like to sit down to discuss what your options are.
I know it'd be hard for me NOT to go in there screaming, 'guns-a-blazing', but it would be best to start off calm and they may be willing to work with you. Some of the other ladies may be right - maybe they got a new videographer and don't realize the poor quaility (didn't watch it before turning it over to you).
Good luck!!!
