I've been involved in a workers comp case for my back since 03. I am at the point where I had to give up running (my life long passion), coaching, my chance at Olympic trials, picking up my nieces and nephews, carrying anything heavier than a small book bag, loading the dishwasher, sleeping the night through, sitting or standing for more than 10 minutes pain free.......I could go on and on...............AND THEY WANT ME TO SETTLE for a whooping $2,900!!!!!!!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???????????

they could offer me whatever, I want to continue with my doctor recommended services. Plus, it's a life long condition so I would never settle in the first place. I understand it's procedure and they need to be careful of people trying to milk the system, but I'm 27 and just want to live as normal of a life as possible right now. I DON'T WANT YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!

Wow thats awful. I used to work as a personal injury paralegal and the limited interactions I had dealing with WC were not great. Keep fighting it!

that stinks. I work as an adjuster mainly dealing with injury claims, and WC rarely pays alot. Honestly, you really had to lose a limb to get any type of 'significant' offer from them. Esp if you have a subjective type injury (like neck/back) where the injury is open to interpretation, they wont pay too much on it.

I sympathize for you...greatly! I have back and neck problems from a car accident. I never tried to sue.
I'm ALWAYS in pain, so I understand how you feel. Even days where I may not be feeling 'as' bad, it doesn't take much for me to be in worse pain. One night in Penn Station, this girl ran into me like a linebacker so hard we both stopped because we hit so hard. She was like 'OMG, I'm sorry.' I knew right away how much pain I was going to be in...I felt an immediate burning in my neck and back. I don't wish it on anyone.

That's why I wouldn't even bother. My cousin's husband has been through it and he kept telling me to fight it. I can't afford to be out of work and I know I would've gotten sh*t from them. So it is what it is...

Exactly! That has always been my concern...to be able to go to my chiropractor when I really need to.

Lorraine and Gina i hope your backs feel better. i get back pain from doing light lifting but its not as bad as youve each described!
