Do Travel Agent's match your price?

I've been in touch with a really popular TA on this site...and DH and I think we have found a 'more for our money' deal on our own. He kept us within our budget at 6 days, 5 nights. We did our own search and added a day- and it's not too much more $$.

How do I 'negotiate' this? Any advice? Thanks!

I don't think you NEED to negotiate!! A good travel agent will match your price - just let your TA know what you found and ask if they'll match it.

Also, have you asked your TA to add a day and seen what the price is? It might be the same price you found.

We used Travel Tom for my friend's destination wedding in November and he acually informed us that it would be the same price to stay an extra day because the flights were cheaper on that day, so we went with that.

If you don't ask, you won't know. Also, if the trip is on the pricey side (I say anything in the $2k range and up is pricey!), by booking with a TA you usually have more reassurance because they are usually available in person/live if a problem arises.
