Hi everyone! I am a new newlywed and just trying to get my house all set up! I need an alarm system and am comparing options. Does anyone have experience with either Slomin's or ADT or another company? Can you give me your opinion of them?

ha the funny thing is that i was crazy enough to think that after i set up an appt with slomins, now the person knows i dont have an alarm and i am in danger!

You're not crazy-I thought the same thing when I set up an appointment with ADT! We have had them for a month and so far so good! I think its like 40 a month. Good luck!

no worries - I am not certainly not gna stalk you.. and should be fine with the alarm company.

My DH's company installs alarms so we have an alarm.
We also did my sisters house, she has always lived in apartments and moved into a pretty big house. She feels so much safer now, especially with her baby

Slomins, I think we pay $27 per month. I think we get a discount b/c we also get our oil from them.

You live right near where I used to live in north babylon... We live in E. Northport now, my DH has had ADT for over a decade and they are very on top of things...I set the alarm off several times and they always call within three-four minutes to check, ask you for the password, and ask if everything is OK...if it ever wasn't they would call the police. I definitely recommend them.

we used Safeguard... We got the best installation price from them. The monthly fees were in the same ballpark..
Shop around, from what I understand - most alarm companies use the same central monitoring location - Safeguard, Slomins, ADT, Brinks, etc..

Bay Alarm has a really nice high-tech system with motion sensors. Its also about $30 per month, my DH is a security software developer and found this system to be the most secure.

do you have contact info by any chance for your company? i googled, and came up with alarm companies all over but not in NY! I actually called one to book an appt, and they told me they are in San Fran and dont cover NY haha!

lol really....thats where i live hmmm...maybe they only cover San Francisco and dont cover the NY area. Sorry lol

No, but i have someone gave me an ADT sign to put on my front lawn and stickers from my windows to make people think we do,
