Do you have to social security near where you live?
I am living up in Ct now and was planning on going up here. I have not changed any addreses from LI yet. is that going to be a problem

You would have to verify your address (in CT) otherwise it will be mailed to your old address.

Not necessarily. I think you can go anywhere. However I know the city is strict about it and if you live in Queens, you have to go to the office in Queens (and not the NYC one).
Also they will verify your new address when you fill out the forms.
