do you have to take new pic for license when changing name?

I know this is a stupid question but i am such a bum today and really don't want to get all dolled up to go change my name on my license. I thought i read in a previous post that someone had to take their pic. My current pic was only taken 3 yrs ago.

I wasn't prepared...and I was very nervous...but I love my pic!!! (I actually ordered an extra...b/c I have to turn my NYS license in and I wanted to keep the pic

yes.. i was so unprepared and totally ticked off because the guy who gives out the numbers said some very nasty things that had me saying nasty things back. I got my number and was flustered and angry and they say 'stand back for your photo'.. bah

One of my collars is in the other is out.. but it's not too bad

I too had no idea that you had to get your pic taken again for the name change and I had NO make up on, my hair was a mess. The lady said 'new name, new picture.' I'm still waiting to see how it turned out. My old pic was actually pretty good and I got it done only like 2 years ago for my renewal.
I may go back and take another pic depending on how bad it is, you can do that for free for like 30 days after you get yours, I think.
