before going to DMV to change your license???

Not necessarily - you need identification that has your new name on it - SS card, marriage license or if you have a new passport already though, i think you can go there with that.

Don't get me started with SS- I sent my papers in and they spelt my new last name wrong - i mean, it's 'Tan' how hard is that right - they wrote 'Ten' - PLEASE! Now i have to wait to do everything else!

Nope. I did SS and MV in the same day. You just need your Marriage Lic and your old Drivers lic

if you go to SS...they will give you a piece of paper to bring to DMV...but the marriage license works too...

any document that shows your new name...at the passport agency they only looked at my drivers license for my new name...
