I make more than my DH and while I wouldn't say he is jealous, I think it bothers him a little bit. He feels like he is the MAN and should be making more.

nope and I never will cuz I'm a teacher and he's an accountant. If it was reversed though, I couldn't see it bothering him.

great thread! I was just thinking of this the other day but was too shy.

DH makes slightly more than I do; we are both in sales.

I do not think it would bother him if I made more. Ironically, I think it would bother me if I made more.

I make a little more ... he just changed jobs, so now we make almost the same amt (but I make more bc of my bonus)

I think it bothers him a little bit - but he doesn't make a big deal out of it.

Nope, BUT....we both work in the same field, only I'm in management and he's a freelance Cameraman..... So if we worked at the same company I'd actually be in charge of him, yet he makes about double what I do in a year. Isn't life grand like that?

At the moment I don't make more than him, but I know it wouldn't bother him if I did. We pool all our $$ so he doesn't matter who's bringing it in as long as it's there!!

I make more than him, just a couple of hundred...it doesn't bother him....I do ALL the Bills, so he doesn't even how much $$$ there is in the Bank Account. He does Not Mind at all.

DH makes much more than I do and it bothers me! LOL!
We had always planned that DH would work from home being self employed and I would be working and bringing in most of the cash (I also planned on being in a VERY different profession).
Well, now DH not only works a regular job, he also owns his own business. We joke around how he kept up his side of the deal and then some and I haven yet to figure things out.

Well....technically my yearly salary is more than his base salary. But since the Army pays for your housing and gives a food allowance per month, that extra income makes him the breadwinner of the family. So, he makes more. And no, if I made more than him I dont think it would bother him.....he doesnt care who makes the money, he just wants it in the bank

Exact same situation here! I think it would bother my DH a little though.

yep.... a lot more...... but he's also on stipend as a grad student (in training for the exact same career) and almost 11 years younger than me...

so no, it doesn't bother him..... we're equals, just at different phases of our careers.

then again, I also came into the relationship with debt, and he didn't, so I better make more, so I can continue to pay it all off!
