I don't like any fake scent things they give me a headache.
This time of year is great I leave the windows open and always have fresh flowers in the kitchen. The house smells fresh and clean .

Oh, good to know! Thanks. Do they only sell them at Yankee Candle stores, or do you think I can buy one in a pharmacy?

like cat said--i find just opening a window or door or something and letting the air in---especially after you clean....is great
DH loves the febreeze sprays -- i don't mind a spritz of 'clean linen' now and again....but fresh air is best

I like those too. Or you can grab the plug ins from bath and body works. they start their summer sale today so they should be marked down. They work nicely.
Or you can get yankee candles in the jar and one of those candle warmers. I bought one because we have crazy cats who are mini pyros. It works really well-you get the secnt without the flame.

Unless your windows open out into a parking lot like ours do and then it smells like exhaust
We do keep a fan in the bedroom though and that works well but living room..not into the scents of exhaust mixed in with our neighbors nightly weed moments.

I got mine at BB&B. Not sure about the pharmacy having Yankee Candle....but they may have other brands with the same thing. You need a 'pot' thingy to burn them in though....those can be expensive from Yankee Candle....but the actual tarts are about 2 bucks.

I like the yankee candles, the bath and body works wall plug-ins and I also use reed diffusers from either Pier One or Pottery Barn.

Carbon monoxide in small doses is always good. Baking is also good for making the house smell good. Make some chocolate chip cookies.
We don't have a parking lot just a neighbor that likes to weedwhack at 8am on Saturday morning .

We have an old stove so I am sure I get my morning dosing-a little bit of freshener makes it go down easier Mary Poppins style.
Cookies are great for house scenting but not for wasitline diminishing...

Fake stuff gives me a wicked headache, and I'm not to keen on breathing in anything chemical sprayed into the air. I keep the windows open and our terrace door to get a good breeze thru the apartment. Kitchen window is always open about an inch.
If I cooked something a bit stinky or DH has been smoking in the house, I usually put a little pot of water with some orange or lemon peel in it on the stove to simmer for a little bit. Sometimes I do a sliced apple with some cinnamon.
A small dish of vinegar absorbs bad odors in the air too, you smell the vinegar for a while but once you pour it down the sink , it disappears.

I dont use anything scented b/c the smell of the plug-ins makes me dizzy for some reason. Also i read the chemicals are really bad to inhale for humans and pets. Sometimes i'll light lightly scented candles from the Bath and body shop for a subtle aroma. For me it makes a noticable differance.

Milana if you are worried about pets try the candle warmer. We stopped lighting the candles because one of our cats likes to put them out. But the smoke from candles isn't good to inhale either. There was some magazine article about it a few months ago in a magazine I was reading.
The warmer is cheap-like 7 bucks but it warms the candle and melts the wax so you get light smell without the smoke.
