Does anybody have Post wedding depression?
It just went so fast, and we had such a great time. I must admit that I've been down in the dumps since we got back from the honeymoon. Don't get me wrong, I love being married, but I just can't believe all that planning, and it's over. Am I the only one?

Re: Does anybody have Post wedding depression?
You are not the only one, it is quite typical. A lot of people feel like this. You work and plan something. You work so hard on it. You focus a lot of your energies on making it your dream day and now it is over and done. Now you are just back to everyday life without that excitment. It is so normal. It will pass as you start to focus on the new newlywed things you have to do.

Re: Does anybody have Post wedding depression?
I can relate...I felt the same way...and still do. I wish I could relive the wedding planning all over again (some would call me crazy but I actually loved planning the wedding).

Re: Does anybody have Post wedding depression?
I keep thinking things like I wish I could do it again, because I was in such a fog that day, and didn't really get to relish the fact that I was finally getting married.I also keep thinking that I wish I had done this or that.... it kills me!
But as far as the planning goes, I don't really miss it. I'm just sad that my wedding is over

I did. Most of June and July I didn't want to go out and do anything. I think alot was that I was so EXHAUSTED from planning!!!

Re: Does anybody have Post wedding depression?
I am going through that now. I didn't like the planning part of the wedding but I wish I could do the day over again. There are things I would have changed. I have memory loss on some parts of the day. It all went sooo fast.

Re: Does anybody have Post wedding depression?
Definitely. I fee really burned out as well. Kind of like, well what do we do now? There was so much build up to the day. I feel like I did when I was little after all of the Christmas presents were opened and realized that there were no more gifts to open. What are you trying to do to feel better?

Re: Does anybody have Post wedding depression?
SO glad to hear I am not alone!!I do NOT miss the planning at all.. I made myself sick towards the end with my endless worrying, and I just drove poor DH crazy.. But once our day arrived and it was going so well, I kept wishing the clock would stop so we could enjoy it over and over (for longer) I was having such a wonderful time and felt so happy and so much love, it was an immediate crash and felt like a letdown the next week when I realized it was OVER
The days in between the wedding and leaving for the HM I was really SAD
DH thought I was nuts!I guess the only way I get thru it is to stay on LIWs endlessly and relive my day by sharing with other brides (LOL). Also , I put it in perspective and remember how miserable I was during the final weeks of planning. Definitely my relationship with DH is SO much happier now that the planning is over and we can get back to normal -- I truly love being married.

Re: Does anybody have Post wedding depression?
I have been going through the same thing. I don't know what to do with my time now. I graduated from grad school in June and the wedding was 3-weeks ago. It's so weird to be home before 6pm. For two years, I had class or studying to do. I feel like I need to be doing something with my time. DH is a PT evening law student so he's not home. I think I might go for my real estate license.

Re: Does anybody have Post wedding depression?
Oh yeah!!!I RUSHED through grad school so that I could finish before the wedding...
We bought our condo and got settled in before the wedding...
I actually CRIED on the airplane while heading out for our honeymoon.
I am SO bored. And, now DH's cousin is getting married soon. I'm so sad when I see all of the hustle and bustle that they're all going through to get that wedding planned...
I definitely miss it! I wish I could start over (of course, knowing everything that I know now!)

Re: Does anybody have Post wedding depression?
I am glad that one of my fellow Aug 1st brides posted about this - because I am feeling exactly the same way. I am so down and so depressed. It doesn't help that I have been looking forever for a guidance counselor job and have not found anything. I was hoping that at least when I got home from the honeymoon that I would have a new job to be excited, nervous and focused on.Everything that all of you have expressed is how I feel. I especially feel like my entire wedding was a blur and I barely remember it. Does anyone else also feel like you don't want to go on BHB anymore? I totally feel like it's too sad for me to go on there...

Re: Does anybody have Post wedding depression?
I am SO depressed to be back from Maui :( But I absolutely love being married to my best friend! But after more than 2 weeks of being with each other 24 hours a day in a tropical paradise & then to be here in the apartment by myself while he goes off to work is just...blah!! I have nearly 2 weeks before I go back to work & I feel lazy and totally unmotivated to do ANYTHING!
But I am going to the Borgata on Wednesday with mom & dad... a little gambling always helps

Re: Does anybody have Post wedding depression?
You'll feel better when you get your video, then you can re- live it and really enjoy it...I felt the same way, and even now sometimes I cant believe it came and went so quickly.. then I throw in my DVD and crack up at my best man speech and whenmy hubby messed up his vows.. and my really drunk friend shaking her booty on the dance floor... You'd be amazed all the things your videographer catches!!

Re: Does anybody have Post wedding depression?
After the wedding, I was so happy it was over-all the stress from the in-laws, my own family. About a week after the wedding, I missed the planning. Now, after I got the proofs and the video, I feel a little let down now that its finally over. I am also trying hard not focus on the little things that went wrong during the wedding, focusing on the end result-marriage, but thoughts like 'was the purple bridesmaid dresses too shiny?' keep plaguing me

Re: Does anybody have Post wedding depression?
I felt the same way a few days following the wedding, very sad it was over, felt very down. then my mother in law had a heart attack 5 days after the wedding(we are best friends) and that kinda put everything in perspective. I am so OVER the wedding now. It annoyed me to even pick pictures out for the album. As days go by, you think about it less and less. At least for me anyway. Plus i still have the honeymoon to go on. Which i'm so glad about. 3 more weeks!! YAY!!!
