I just called to make a hair appointment and they asked for my name and I said my maiden name and then stuttered out 'uh,uh,uh it's actually under Perotti'
I KEEP DOING that!!! I did it the other day while ordering something online and it kept denying my credit card and I was like W T F.....until I realized my name didn't match the name on the card DUH!
I also did it while calling the doctor today & I think I told Marie's sister my maiden name...instead of my new last name.
You would think after 6 months, I'd get it right! lol
Anyone else having a hard time getting your new last name to come out of their mouth when asked what your name is......

I do it all the time. I was at a speech tournament over the weekend and some called me by new last name and I totally ignored them until they tapped me on the arm. I apologized and said I am still getting used to my new name.

nearly a year later---and i still do that. i think i'll always do it. i miss my maiden name

I do it all the time! Plus, I've changed some stuff over to my married name (social security, drivers license, etc.) but still haven't changed a bunch of other stuff, and I can never keep track of what name I should be using.

It happened a lot in the beginning. I would take a long pause between my first name and my new last name. Sometimes with a long 'uhhh' in there! It was so embarassing. I always though the person was thinking I was making up a name to get out of signing up for a club card or whatever, heh. I got a hold on it now, though.

I do it 1/2 the time; sometimes I don't give my married name because I know people are going to ask how do you spell that?

ok, good I'm glad I'm not alone!!!
I'm still known at work by my maiden name b/c to have to e-mail everyone and all my vendors is just to much work!! So I'm still using both sometimes!!!

I dont do it as often, usually I just stutter when I say it, when I have to type it in or write it I dont forget, but saying it now that is a WHOLe different thing....and it sounds like a true stutter b/c it starts with and S

ALL the time especially lately when I have been organizing my class schedule because all of that is in my maiden name. I do the long pauses lol. Must be why they keep asking to see the marriage certificate.

Well since I was married in the middle of the school year, not only do I forget my new last name, but so do my students! Half the time they forget what to call me It's rather amusing!!

I'm actually doing pretty good with the name change. I'm proud of myself Though about 2 weeks ago, I filled out my time sheet & handed it to my boss. He laughed & handed it back & asked me if I wanted to change anything... I wrote my maiden name by accident.

I definitely do but I hyphenated so I'm having an easier time because they will always find me on the system since my maiden name comes up

I hyphenated so now I never know what to tell people. My new name is so long! Most of my bills, doctors, etc still have me under my maiden name and I'm gradually changing them, but when I tell places to change it I feel silly, I'm like just add hypen and ... like it almost seems not worth the trouble because my maiden name is part of the new name. Anyone else have that problem?
