I shouldn't complain b/c my husband definitely helps me clean the house....but his definition of 'clean' is doing it half a*s. I find myself cleaning around him and redoing what he does! Ha ha! (Yes...we didn't live together before marriage)

It's not that he's not thorough...he just doesn't do it the same way I would.
he's really anal in the kitchen, but he'll clean the work surface with a soapy sponge and I can't stand when the suds are left on the countertop. He has to have separate cutting boards for chicken and sterilize utensils and stuff...but he wouldn't think to clean the front of the cabinets, and the floor is a disaster! So's the tile behind the stove and I'm always the one to take the stove top apart to get at the grease after he fries something.

I hate the way he loads the dishwasher. I know I am insane about this, but I always have to empty and reload! He doesn't put the bowls in the bowl spaces, which causes the plates to be all messed up and not orderly.

I'm so happy my husband cleans, but it's not as 'I would do it'... I came home one night to him just having cleaned the bathroom. The toilets and countertops sparkled. I looked at the fllor and said 'You didn;t clean the floor?' and he said 'I did twice! I just cant get it clean' I told him he needed to vacuum the hair (I have long hair) and then wipe it down not just move it around with a wet rag

When DH cleans, he is thorough. He is the type to take everything off the kitchen counter (all appliances, canisters, etc) and clean the counter and its contents and sweep and wash down the cabinets BUT he only does this once a month and loves to let things build up. He like BIG CLEANING, whereas I like to clean up after myself as I go along so I never have to do such a crazy cleaning.
He also doesn't clean the bathrooms and probably makes the most mess in there.

i can never find things after he cleans. He doesn't know where things are supposed to go. We usually don't clean together. He drives me nuts asking me 'Do you need this?' every three seconds. So I try to clean when he's not around.

OMG! Mine's forever throwing my stuff away!! We had a huge fight over a used water bottle once I used to use it for the gym and one day he threw it away and I was like WHERE is my bottle????

I have to be very thankful that my husband cleans when I ask him and is totally willing to do the things I hate to do.
But he sort of cleans 'in the dark' -- sometimes literally.
But even his half cleaning is better than no cleaning where I'd have to do everything myself.

He's totally hopeless. It takes him twice as long to clean as I do, and he usually gets something messed up. He just got bleach stains on my nice red fabric shower curtain from the shower tile spray. He had leaned the curtain against the tiles. He said he didn't know the stuff had bleach in it. I said, 'how could you not SMELL it?!'
It drives me nuts when he leaves the sponge that he uses to clean the dishes in the bottom of the sink Ugh, the germs!
He also waits until the last minute to clean (like late at night on Sunday) which drives me crazy.......

I can't complain, because he does a lot, but I find him puzzling. Certain things he is positively ANAL about, but other things, he would let go for years. I can't figure out how his mind determines what is too gross to let go and what gets ignored. For example, he does a spectacular job cleaning the sink, tub and toilet in the bathroom. But the grout is still moldy looking (that blackish tinge to it) and there is an inch of dust on the back of the toilet tank

I completely agree with this. Sometimes I would rather him just leave them in the sink so I can load it. And he puts everything in the dishwasher! No everything can go.
Aside from that my DH usually only vacuums, b/c its new and has the tube you just pull out, so when hes done he's like 'DW look at all this', so pround of himself. He dusts occassionally.

I'm so glad I'm not alone...he tells me I'm being 'mean' when I correct how he's doing it. I mean, I know the dishwasher takes crud off the plates and stuff, but you have to remove your layers of chocolate marshmallow cake before you plop your plate and knife in there! Jes!

Goodness no!! I'm just thankful that he DOES clean. Sure I could probably find things I don't like about the way he does it, but I won't say them to him and risk him not cleaning!! But actually, my DH is a VERY good cleaner.

I hate the way he cleans...when he does clean. He tries to help out more now that the baby is here, but he'll aks 1000001 questions about the cleaning task that I end up getting upset and doing it myself
