Does anyone HAVE to go into work today?

I had already put in for the day so I am off anyway. DH had to make it in- he works for Con Ed and was told they needed to get in one way or another,

If you dont have to go in please stay home- its horrible out there

I'm home but Charlie has to go in. We are waiting to see if the train will run after 11 am.

I work at home, so I have to work...but I don't have to drive, thank God.

DH's job is closed today also, another thank God! I would not want him out there driving.

I most likely do but... am holding off until the plows come through. There's about 5 cars on my block out there who dug themselves out of the driveway and then got stuck in the street and have been out there for 45 minutes digging out the snow thats blocked them in.

DH just left. I helped him shovel out the driveway. Thankfully my office closed but I can't make it in anyway because the LIRR is suspended. My mom also had to go to work so I'm sitting here worried about both of them and waiting for a phone call!

my line of Metro North is suspended so I am staying to work from home
DH's company is closed
last night looked pretty apocalyptic out there, so glad to stay home today

I got my phone call from Jerry- He made it into work ok. Thank goodness. But its crazy- all they are doing is sitting in the office doing nothing.

Getting back in jammies and back in bed .

I spent yesterday evening catching up on all the GLEE I hadn't seen. Watched four episodes with the last one still to watch.

So I guess I'll go watch that.

I am at work

Unfortunately, I work in a hospital which doesnt close AND I live in walking distance so I had no excuse not to go. It S*CKED trudging through the snow this morning though.

DH had to go to work...

I can't possible see it being open as (no offense) his job isn't THAT important to be open during a blizzard.

However, his boss is on vacation and he couldn't get a hold of anyone else. The emergency closing line still said work was open today... so he has to drive in the snow and see if work is actually open or not. I am so worried about him driving in this!!

DH worked for the family business so he's in the clear to stay home.

I was going to go in...I rarely let snow get in the way of getting to work, but I heard that the A train was all jacked up, and we got up at 4:55 to shovel...I was out there and didn't see any A trains at all (it's down the block from us). I called out.

So, I'm home, the place is shoveled, it's 9:30 and it's a SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!!

Gonna plan our NYE party menu and make some decorations. Hooray for construction paper and glitter!

I got an email last night that my school was closed!

DH had work 12 hours yesterday, 12 hours again today, and who knows how much longer (he works for sanitation). At least we have a nice paycheck to look forward to! he stays at his parents though because they live 5 mins from his job (we live 45 mins away).so miss him!

my office was OPEN today.. but luckily i already took the day off. i NEVER would have made it. i just shoveled out my parking spot but the roads are only plowed one lane. its HORRENDOUS and DANGEROUS and everyone who comes down the street gets stuck at the corner (queens) its terrible!

People were stuck on the A train for HOURS!! and the LIRR is not up and running so i had no options anyways... DREADING TOMORROW!

I had to work... One of my coworkers said it right- when I was little I loved snow storms. Now I dread them. Nurses don't get snow days.
I was up at 4 and out by 4:45 shoveling with DH (who worked from home) to be at work by 7.

I didn't have to be at work today, but it's better that I am. Besides, we were running low on left overs at home.

ETA: My office was open yesterday, too, but I didn't go in. The snow outside my front door was as tall as me.
