If so, are you close with them?

We dont, we have 'second' families as in people that have been 'like' family our whole lives...if that makes sense

Sure do. My mom remarried when I was four (I always considered him my Dad even though he was technically my stepdad), so I have 2 stepbrothers and 2 stepsisters. Only my one stepbrother came to my wedding- that has alot to do with his wife and kids. I ADORE them.
My stepsisters are twins- one is mentally retarded, the other is 'normal' but has some SERIOUS emotional problems. If my Dad (her biological dad) was still alive she probably would have been at the wedding. I think she's really gone downhill since he passed away. She was always soooo messed up though.
My other stepbrother lives in the middle of nowhere like a hermit with his wife.
