Does anyone know of Dr. Jay Starr

My physician is leaving the medical plan I have through work, and I need to find a new one. Of the people close to me, not one of their doctors is listed in the plan, so I pretty much have to sign on with a new one completely unknown.

Does anyone know Dr. Jay Starr in Deer Park? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

While we're asking about doctors....

Any recommendations for Western Suffolk, preferably south shore?

I need a Primary Care (either GP or Internal Medicine) and also would like a recommendation on a Gynecologist and a Dermatologist if anyone has someone to reommend.

If you are looking for the Islip area try Fink Family Medical (GP) on Islip Ave- 224-1616. It is is husband and wife sharing the practice. I find it convenient that they are open every Sunday too.

Oakdale OB/GYN (589-4344) is about 5 doctors with a few other locations that opened recently- W. Islip and (Bohemia/Holbrook?). Dr. Patricia O''Sullivan is great but I have also spoken with 3 other doctors there and liked them all. Her husband works there too- Dr. Bakshi. Call Oakdale and they can give you the other locations.

I have a great dermatolotgist in the Islip/Bay Shore area. His name is Dr. Skrokov. Actually, any of the doctors in that office are great. Its called Dermatology Group, and the number is 631 666 0500. I also use a gyno in West Islip. His name is Dr. Egre. I have only been there a few times, but he definitely had me feeling at ease. My friend swears by him! 631 587 4800. Good Luck!

I would also like a good obgyn in Suffolk (in the Smithtown area or within 15 miles). I've gone to Suffolk Obgyn and just not thrilled with them..

Any recommendations would be great. Also what are good hospitals for obgyns to be affiliated with? Suffolk is afil w St Charles. Any ideas on that ?

thanks!

I go to personal womans care on terry road in smithtown. I recently had a baby with them (well not with them but you know what i mean!! lol)and it was a very positive experience. They were very nurturing, especially with me since i am so emotional. i went to st catherines in smithtown to have her and it was a geat experience. the nurses were so nice and supportive. i had some problems nursing and they were excellant teachers. hope this helps.

Thanks for the recommendations - almost all of them are in our medical plan too! I'm also looking for a Dentist in the area - any suggestions there?

My dentist is not on my plan, so I have to find a new one too. I recently went to one in Patchogue that I just picked out of the book, but I did not like him! If you find one, please let me know!!
