Does it bother you when you hear bad things about your RH?

For some reason I hate when people bad mouth my RH. People say I have HEARD this and that. Im really not sure why but I guess because it kind of feels like home to me and if you havent been there ZIP IT!!!! Am I the only one????????

oh yea this definitely bothered me!! some people would either give me the 'I heard' comments, or what would annoy me is that people would tell me about it from 10 years ago.....the hall was completely renovated, under new mgmt., but yet I get to hear about their visit back in like '95 lol. luckily, I just brushed it off, and had an amazing experience there, which I reflected in my review. that's all you can do is tell people what a great experience YOU had and let them go there to decide for themselves.

Your hall was GORGEOUS! I would pop someone in the mouth if I were you.

sometimes i think when people are a little upset that maybe they can't afford some higher end places---they feel like they have to bad mouth it and say things negative....like knock it so its okay that it might be out of reach.

heck--i was a super budget bride---so po' we can't afford the O and the R oheka is gorgeous and i could never even afford to walk thru the door! but i'm not gonna verbally tear it down like others have!

Budget Brides Annonymous...We should start a club ONLY thing that bothered me about ym hall was our chairs...they didnt bother me beforehand but looking back at the pics they bother me now. Everything is soo pretty and bright and the chars are a dull black and stand out sooo much. I thought we were having the other kind of chairs with the pretty spindle backs.

it bothered me before i got married while i was in the process of planning... but afterwards, i could careless what people say about my RH.. my wedding was amazing!!

u know what's so funny? is that the chairs were slightly bothering me at my hall---BUT i refused to pay $9 a chair cover for the fancy linens. ($1000xtra--um yeah no that serious)

that day they ended up using the chair covers anyway cause the event after ours was using them---suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkkaaaaaaaaaaaas!!!!!

i've never been so excited over linen in my LIIIIFE!

Same here-too expensive. You lucked out majorly! Now that you mention linens..they told us ours would be floor length..nope..You saw the nasty bottoms of the old *** round tables...thankfully our pictures don't show that so i can pretend NEVER happened!

Honestly, do i get upset-the answer would be no.

However, i do get upset when someone goes OVERBOARD with what happened. TO say 'oh the food wasnt that great' is ok, I totally understand that, i have been to 2 weddings at a certain RH and at one the food was great and the other not so much.

BUT when they say, 'the food was so bad taht I literally threw up in my plate' come on now...really?

I think its the way the problem is stated. And we all know how the game of telephone goes. One person said the food was ok, thenext tells a friends the food suckeed, the next tells another friend the food had mold on it.

If YOU yourself did not experience something I definitely agree with the ZIP IT!!!

I loved my Oheka wedding and know that it was worth every penny of what we spent - which people don't even know what that number was! People just assume things and then rant about how overpriced it is when they don't even know the prices!

Thanks guys Im glad to know that Im not alone in this thinking. You are right I loved it and thats all that counts. But I cant help getting a little pissed when people say bad things about it and they havent even been there. All heresay. Anyways Thanks girls!!!! Love the newleywed board!

Oh please!!!! About Oheka!!??? Haha!! Thats insane. Its all JEALOUSY I hate and cant stand jealous and selfish people. I had a friend never said anything nice about my wedding, she said It was hot and she had a headache....so she sat at the table miserable all night and it shows in my pics and video....unreal!!! Its terrible how people just cant be happy for others ( prob has to do with the negatives in their own lives!!) ...and its so nasty how people focus on the negative!! Oheka is amazing!!! Obviously!!! Its a dream for most! Dont let it get to ya....I cant wait to go to a wedding there!! Ive only heard great things!

i try to tell myself 'To each is own'...there obviously are reasons why we picked OUR reception halls and not others right? But yea stacey - i totally hear you on the 'I heard' comments...THAT flips me out...if somebody went to the RH & wasn't crazy about the decor, just wasn't their style or what have u - then fine..everyone has their own opinions & that's why all of our weddings are so unique.. But when the 'I heard this & I heard that' comments chime in it does aggrivate me. First of all, if someone had a not so great experience at a place..EVERYONE is human & places CAN(even though for the money they shouldn't) have nights that are slightly less then fabulous...luckily the majority of us are fortunate enough to have fabulous weddings...so it s*cks when somebody who had a less fabulous experience totally flame the place. Like jen said, yes she's honest about her situation that happend, BUT she also backs it up with the pros to her day. I absolutely LOVED my RH - but people will be people and there will always be someone that finds something to say. i just try to post about my amazing experience & that's enough for me
