I thought it was during the reception but didnt care enough to say anything except to my DOC.

Okay this is going to sound strange but...

if I put my finger over the cake topper, then the cake looks fine to me. If I look at it with the topper, then it looks slightly off. So I don't think it's the cake, I think the topper was slightly askew.

Beautiful cake, though!

It's a gorgeous cake, and at first glance, I never wouldn't noticed anything.

I'm 'examining' it though and the second layer looks crooked on the left, and so does the second up from the bottom section of detailing. It's really slight though...if I weren't examining, I would neverrr have noticed!
