I used to always give him a basket filled with all the peanut butter chocolate candies he so loves and whatever fad he was into at the time. But this year I'll probably give him some PS2 game along w/the candy.

He usually gets me some piece of sterling silver jewelry, because not only don't I need the chocolate, but I don't like it either!

I don't get anything either - I was surprised to see how many people do.

I use to make him Easter chocolate - but he doesn't eat much (health nut) so I just make it for his and my family instead. Which reminds me I have to start - maybe tonight....

He's not religious so he doesn't even conside Easter a holiday LOL. But now and then he'll surprise me with a card.
(not the pop up kind )

I don't get him anything either though.
Then again, Easter was never a big deal. As a child I NEVER got an Easter basket.

Susan: Dont you make fun of my pop up cards

My parents never did anything for special for us on Easter either so I think thats how Luke started in with getting me a basket...b/c I get a kick out of that stuff.

As a continuation to this thread - why dont we all post what we get this Sunday :D

I think I'll have to tell DH to go out and get me something now, just because everyone else gets a gift LOL. That way I can post back on Monday.

Ok He shocked me!
When John picked me up at the train station last night he said you got a big package today. I said it must be the table pads for the dining room. When we walked into the house he insisted I come see it.

It was a beautiful arrangement of - All the Flowers We Used For our Wedding!

Someone Pick me up off the floor.

Well, I didn't get anything for Easter, as expected.
'sigh'

Fran, shockingly thoughtful gesture. He definately wins a prize for that one. I don't even think that DH would be able to come up with that, and all I used was roses. LOL.

DH did buy me an Easter plant...even when we said the day before no Easter gifts, right? I will probably kill it in my apartment (too hot and not enough sun for this kind of flowery plant) but it was a cute gesture because it eventually should be planted outdoors and with the prospect of getting a house (that came on suddenly this weekend) in maybe less than 2 months he figured we could plant it in our new backyard......

Fran - that is so sweet - I don't my DH would ever think of something like that!!!

Re: Does your hubby give you an Easter present?

Easter has always been chocolate and candy for the kids in my family ! and I love it that way ! (well us adults are big kids as far as being included in the chocolate every year!)
We had our first annual egg hunt for my nieces, it was priceless seeing my niece Alessia devour chocolate while all the adults were distracted chatting...

I think gifts lose their meaning when you get them for every little holiday JMO

I went shopping for 2 long days this week, gifts with no holiday ??? does that count ??

Actually my sis got us all (the ladies) little thoughtful gifts

Jenn, I like the 'gotcha' day idea ! I feel guilty exchanging gifts on little holidays, but GOTCHA DAY is cute !

I got nothing.

Re: Does your hubby give you an Easter present?

I think of gifts as a way of my DH and I expressing our love for one another. Of course we express our love in many ways- even him doing the dinner dishes is an expression of love IMO BUT at holidays it is nice to go shopping for him and think 'What would he really like in his basket, under the tree, etc..'. It is about making time for one another during our crazy schedules.
