Dollar Savings Direct

Dollar Savings Direct

Anyone have a savings account with them? Just wondering how it is - they have a 4% APY rate which is very high compared to my current 'high interest' bank which I get about 1.2% interest on right now. Hello, we are trying to save up, how are we supposed to do that with a nearly 0% interest rate!!

4%??? Is that for people with high balances or for anyone???

Re: Dollar Savings Direct

As far as I can tell it is for anyone above the minimum. it says...

Interest on the Dollar Savings Account is compounded daily and credited monthly. For more details, see our Account Disclosure.

That's what I meant - what the minimum was. I guess I asked it in a funny roundabout way though. I just looked at their site, and it's a division of emigrant savings bank - which is a well known bank that's been around for a long time - and the min. is $1000. Not bad! I am going to talk to DH and see if he wants to switch our money from ING to this one ...

I keep bugging DH about it, I want to switch but I'm not sure what the rules with our current Money Market Account are, you might need to keep a minimum balance or something. If you open up the account, let me know how it goes!
