Donating a car...

After the wedding DH and I bought a much needed new car. Now I have the old car sitting in my parents driveway. I have to donate it because it's a POS. Has anyone ever done this? I looked online and it looks just too easy. Do I really not have to be there? Are they really just going to take it with no strings attached?

Any help would be much appreciated with this.

Both DH and I have donated cars. i just called they took my info over the phone and came and picked up the car. They sent all paperwork though the mail.
