DR. Update!!

Thanks for those of you who asked about the Doc appointment yesterday.

Things went pretty well (aside from my almost throwing up all over the Doc,...who happens to be the parent of one of my students! )

Anyway, after doing some examinations of my vocal cords the doctor said he found a TINY TINY TINY nodule that he is not worried about. He said he doesnt think this is the cause of my hoarseness but found some pretty bad acid reflux that needs to be treated.

I was actually SO relieved...he said not to go for speech therapy as of now and he wouldn't do anything with the nodule but wants me to take some medication for the reflux and come back in a month to see how things go.

So aside from him seeing a tiny nodule, the appointment really went as well as could be expected. This week off from work couldnt have come at a better time. I am just going to rest my voice and hope that the reflux medication helps solve some of this. He also said i am not drinking nearly enough water. So I need to get on that and stop clearing my throat as much as possible!

I was just going to FM you! Than you so much for your help! He tried to do the stroboscopy but i kept gagging lol.

He said that he saw what he needed to see in the first scope exam and that we would try the strobe again next month lol

Oh good! Sorry about the gagging Maybe they can give you a little sedative before hand to relax you?
