Does anyone look back and wish they had worn a different dress? My dress was gorgeous, but I think I looked like a barrel in it I wish that I had worn something more flattering to my figure that gave me more of a waist like a corset back dress or something. Don't get me wrong-- I looked good and DH thought I was beautiful, but I think could have looked much better in another dress.
Anyone else feel this way?

I never post, don't get scared I am not a lurker. I just felt the need to step up and say - yes meeeee too.
My dress looked great when I picked it - unfortunatly I am a stress eater, so by the time I actually had to wear it ..... after wedding planning stress, I was uncomfortable and I had back fat in my pics.
eeeh whatugonnado? It was still the best day of my life, and I hope one day my kids will say to me - oh my God Mom we never knew you once had backfat..... you are the picture of tonedness now

I'm glad I'm not alone Yeah, there's nothing I can do about it now, but looking at pics is hard sometimes. I'm also a stress eater and didn't lose any of the the weight I planned on losing.
But what matters most is that we had amazing days and awesome memories

Re: Dress regret
Yes, i am guilty.. I hated dress shopping mainly b/c of all the pushy & overbearing saleswomen that I encountered while shopping that when I found one decent dress & bought it on the spot.
While yes, my dress was pretty & made me feel so pretty on my wedding day, I feel that I could have looked much better in a different dress.

Re: Dress regret
I felt that way with my handfasting dress. Its a ceremony done a yr and a day before the wedding. I felt like a real porker in it. Though I never regretted my wedding dress and I don't think you should either. Honestly todays version of beauty is personally not my taste and your DH loved the way you looked. Isn't that what really matters?

Yep. Everyone here pretty much knows I HATED my dress because of the whole lying to me debacle that happened at RK bridal. i wrote about it in my review but essentially i wish Id waited. I didnt know abotu Maggie Sottero dresses till I ordered mine and then saw THE dress.
My issue with my dress is it never sat right and had no boningso it kinda sagged. I have a short waist so it didnt really help elogate me at all.
It looked fine in photos but i was annoyed with it all night.
I will say I loved it for my day after pics because I added a red sash and brooch..SUCH a simple fix and i wish id thought of it for the wedding because it instantly broke me up and made it a dress I was happy with if not in love with.
many of us have regrets but don't let it get you down. You looked fgorgeous!

For the record, I LOVED your dress. Loved it. I understand your issues with it though since it had to do with how it fit you, but it really was gorgeous.

Aww Thank You!
It was the fit that was the icing on the cake but I originally bought the dress thinking we were going to havea destnation wedding. if Id known our parents (er MY parents) would freak and inisist it be here, I'd have gone with a mermaid dress. All hindisght but I probably should get my darn dress cleaned and see if someone wants to buy it.

OMG I live with this ALL THE TIME!!! I want to go back into my pictures and change my dress AND hair!! My dress was so plain, and that stupid wrinkle on the bodice drives me nuts. Oh well...it was an amazing day and I wouldn't change anything else!

Me too. I ended up loosing alot of weight from when I purchased it and even after alterations the dress fit me a little big (I had to pull it up towards the end of the night) I look back and i wish I would have worn something a little ok a lot tighter in the stomach more corset-type.
wow I thought I was the only one that felt this way

Don't feel bad. I was told to eat ice cream after my final fitting but I didnt want to gain weight. Instead with stress I LOST more weight and the damn dress FELL DOWN during the reception while I was dancing with yes, our family priest and doctor.
That was the moment I thanked the deities above Iwe didn't hire a videogrpher
the rest of the night I had to hold my shoulders back to keep it up and in some pics it had turned at the top so i look like I had a 3rd boob.

Re: Dress regret
i feel the same way. i bought my dress rather quickly, and loved it when i tried it on. but when i would revisit it, i started doubting it. thing is, i love the back of my dress, but thought the front was too plain. i also would have done a corset back. i gained a few lbs from when i ordered it, to my first fitting, and it was really tight. in the video my back fat is jiggling for all to see. i do wish i would have taken more time to look for dresses. whatever, i still had an amazing day, and that's what matters!

LOl did anyone capture that on film? thats classic-'heres a token for the future bride plus a little extra'
Laugh away. i do. Its silly in hindisght.
I actually didnt wear a bra becasue I have no boobs and they put cups in, but they were badly done. It didnt hold. So yea..I flashed the Bare Naked Ladies but I was SHCOKED.
I didnt notice for a millisecond. It was my mOH who grabbed my boobs and I was like WTH and then realized HELLO she has a handful.
Neither of them said anything and when I came back i acted like I didn't just flash the whole place. I was ona happy high that day and so glad the plannign was OVER i just said screw it.
It was literally a split second thing but I was careful the rest of the night.

I just looked back at your dress because I couldnt remember it other than you looked pretty in it. I LOVED that dress! That was one of the ones I cut out originally but wasn't in my price range.
I think it looked great.

Re: Dress regret
I regret not paying more attention to how the bridal attendant bustled my dress. i think it was wrong! when i look at it in pictures i get annoyed to no end but what can you do?
also before we got engaged we had booked our rh (dont ask) so i went dress shopping by myself which was really sad, i wished i had my mom there with me but so be it. i tried on a $900 dress that i loved but i just couldnt justify it to myself. so i feel like i kind of settled for a $400 one from davids that was still pretty but not my ideal.

Re: Dress regret
not really regret about the whole dress, but I wish I wasn't so long and looked so close to the floor, maybe had I worn taller shoes it would've been better.
