Dr./Nurses please come in...

My older sister (she'll be 31 in January) has gradually lost vision in her left eye over the last two weeks. She can't even see light now. She went to the eye doctor yesterday and they told her, her eye is healthy and they couldn't find any damage to it. Also, she has a numbness in her legs and if feels like pins and needles when she taps them. Our grandmother died of MS so we are all jumping to conclusions and my sis has been crying every night about it. She has an appointment with a neurologist on Friday, but we won't be getting the results for a least a couple of days after that. Her PCP checked her blood pressure which is good and tested her for diabetes which was negative. What else could be causing these symptoms?

TIA,
Kelly

The neurologist will definitely have a better sense of what is going on since it does seem nerve related more than anything, but believe it or not stress can cause issues such as vision difficulties and muscle problems.

Im not a nurse, but a friend of mine's husband had the SAME symptoms and they said it was slight MS

I dont want to scare you, but i would get a CT scan and go to the neurologist. He is on medication, but they said it healed itself, the meds are jsut precautionary, so it might be so slight, but i wouldnt neglect it

My thoughts with you all

Get an MRI and see what the neurologist says. I'm not a nurse or doc (just work in research with neuro) but her PCP should've sent her for an MRI and neuro when the symptoms first started. for your sis

My friend went throught the same things. She had all the
symptoms for MS, she had a Catscan done, MRI done and all the test came back that there was nothing wrong. Eventually everything went away and the doctor came to the conclusion that it was caused by stress. She's perfectly fine now.
I hope everything is okay
