I have finally chosen my pictures for the album-- I live in Westchester so I am mailing the proofs to them. When you placed your final order how did you pick your outer album (like color and stuff?) Also did they email you the lay out of the album? Thanks!

We actually made the trip from Scarsdale and made an appointment to bring all our proofs out to Duet when we did our album, but I'll try and help answer some of your questions
We didn't actually choose our album cover/color, etc. Now I don't know if this is because they don't offer a choice or not, but we just never asked. When we saw the cover of the sample album they had there, that's what we went with (we also upgraded to the larger album..I guess its called the 'Soho' book? not the coffee table size, the bigger one)
After Duet receives your proofs by mail, they will do prepare the layout and yes they email it to you for your approval before sending it to the printer. I think we got the layout by email in just a few weeks after we submitted everything. Once you look everything over, you can make changes , etc. until you are satisfied

Since Nicole will email you the layout after receiving your proofs, its not truly necessary to meet with them (unless you have some specific questions). They will change anything you need if its not up to your liking.
We needed a few things changed on a couple of our proofs (like from color to B&W) that I felt was easier to explain in person, which is why I made the trek to after work one night (I work in NYC) and just sat down and went over everything with them
We also submitted all our video music/pics at the time and I wanted to go over that as well

We live on the border of Ossining and Millwood. It's west and north of Scarsdale, definitely more affordable!!! There's actually a house on our block for sale - its very family oriented cul-de-sac. You should check it out. MLS# 2503630
