but what do you use them for? is there stuff that you make that you NEED a dutch oven for?

how does it compare to a roasting pan?

im confused....

they aren't necessary if you aren't a serious cook.

honestly - i bought mine because they are pretty and i found one clearanced out.

they get hot, stay hot and distribute heat well.

they're great for cooking a LOT of things, you can serve out of them, put it from oven to the freezer/fridge.

eh... i dont know anything else about it.

This is mainly why I love and use mine. I make chili, sauce, and have even made burgers in it (Black bean and regular beef).
