Re: eating 5 meals a day
Hi Gail... I know you are supposed to eat 5 small meals a day.. I read it on a website once though to count whatever you eat as a meal even if it is just a snack. I do eat about 5 times a day but I doubt i am doing it correctly. This is my typical day (during the week). I need to fit one more 'snack' in but usually this is enough for me. Sometimes after dinner I will have another apple or some trisquits with hummus.
Breakfast: Special K Bar or yogurt or cereal Lunch: Salad or Turkey Sandwich Snack: Pretzels or Apple Slices Dinner: Whatever we have that night
On a weekend add on about 75 more snacks.

Re: eating 5 meals a day
I used to do this.
You should be eating 5 small meals every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. The meals should be no more than 300 calories each meal which is based on a 1500 calorie per day diet.
I would do some variation of the following:
Meal 1: Smoothie Meal 2: Yogurt Meal 3: WW Meal or Salad (this one always fell around lunch time for me) Meal 3: Fruit or veggies and protein bar Meal 4: Dinner meal that is no more than 300 calories Meal 5: Fat Free Pudding

Re: eating 5 meals a day
5 meals a day is easy, I can do 6! Here's what I do when I'm on a mission:
Breakfast: plain yogurt w/banana OR oatmeal (I like the Quaker Weight control oatmeal packets, you just add hot water)
Snack: 1 piece low fat string cheese or fruit
Lunch: Salad w/ grilled chicken, almonds, cranberries, w/balsamic vinagrette on side
Snack: Kashi Go Lean bar (I love honey almond flax)
Dinner: Grilled chicken w/veggies, brown rice
Snack: frozen grapes (no more than 1 cup)

Re: eating 5 meals a day
I really only eat 3 meals a day, but the way I have to eat it kind of makes it 5 meals, since I graze my lunch over 3 hours lol.
Breakfast: toast and coffee Snack 1: banana and raisins, usually around 11:30 Snack 2: Granola Bar, usually around 12:30 Snack 3: Saltines, usually around 1:00 Lunch: PBJ sandwich, between 1-1:30 Dinner: whatever I can get my hands on, between 6:30-7:30...haven't gotten in to a real pattern yet, but usually a starch, a protein, and a veggie.

Re: eating 5 meals a day
Yup thats what i do when im watching. 5 smaller meals & you feel energized & full all day.
Breakfast - Kashi Organic Oatmeal or cereal with a half of apple or banana i use skim milk (organic) with cereal water in oatmeal
Snack - 1 tsp of organic peanut butter with other half of apple or banana
Lunch grilled chicken (organic) salad or organic low sodium soup with a multi grain organic english muffin
Snack - hand full of almonds (RAW)
Dinner - whatever i make in a moderate portion
i usually never snack at night. If i do its an organic trailmix granola bar or a 1/2 cup of vanilla ice cream ( very random)
