Eating Habits since married...
For us, we have both gained weight since the wedding. We were so excited to have our own place we started cooking big meals all the time. Now I am finding it hard to break the habits. I am really trying to eat better and exercise more, but it is so hard!Anyone else finding this since getting married?

HE has put weight on, which he's been trying to do. I'm not sure about me...we don't own a scale. I feel about the same. We've been trying to take long walks together for our health and for the dog. I also try to make balanced meals for us...lots of veggies included, etc. We try to stay away from fast food, but allow it here and there. We are self professed junk food junkies!!!

Re: Eating Habits since married...
we've only cooked once since we've been home. His work schedule changed so I really don't/won't cook for myself, and he eats at work. The other times when we could cook together we end up going out or we have something to attend (wedding, sweet 16, bbq, communion, etc).So no idea about weight gain, but I def. gained a few pounds on my honeymoon

Re: Eating Habits since married...
This is such a fear for me. I had such a constant gym routine every week that I was freaking out that after we got married I would not be able to stick to it. I need to stick to it and have been. I gained 3 pounds on my honeymoon. People say 'what is 3 pounds', but if you ignore the 3#'s it will turn into 6 pounds before you know it. I am a dietitian, so weight, food, etc...are always on my mind!

Re: Eating Habits since married...
When I lived by myself, I ate a lot less. Now that he lives with me and cooks all the time (he's the chef, not me!!
) I eat more than I used to.

Re: Eating Habits since married...
I gained a lot of weight--my clothes don't fit me anymore and I'm just not comfortable with my own body. In the last two weeks I've started exercising more--I've been running about three times a week. The food thing is really difficult. Most of the time I'm home earlier than DH and I'm starving, so I eat something, then he comes home and I eat again...I think the secret is portion control. You can eat with him, but make sure you limit HOW MUCH you eat.I think that's what's working for me.
By the way, have you heard of Body for Life? I swear by it, it's amazing, but takes some discipline and planning.

Re: Eating Habits since married...
He has lost weight, I have gained. I'm such a stress eater. I have been having issues at work and now we are trying to buy a house. I'm trying to get my she*t together, but I'll BE the house soon if I don't get a grip!
He works nights and I work days so we tend to have big meals together on the weekends too. If I held it together during the week this probably wouldn't be so bad.

Re: Eating Habits since married...
We have both actually lost weight since we got married.I find that I eat a whole lot more cereal or salad at night when he's not home. I can't be bothered to cook for myself for the most part.
It helps that we have dinner at my parents house at least once a week, and usually his parents give us a dinner that they made as well - we got lucky like that!

Re: Eating Habits since married...
Oh my gosh - I've gained weight too! I lost almost 10 before the wedding, but then once that was over and I didn't have to worry about squeezing into my dress anymore ;) the honeymoon and every meal since I just really havent been as strict as I used to be, and I've gained all the lost weight back! DOH! One of my friends who got married put on 50 pounds shortly after!!!! She says it happens to everyone, but I think 50 punds is a bit much!! I try to go to the gym like I used to, but it's harder now that I don't have the wedding to motivate me! :) Oh well, DH says I still look great, so what's a few extra pounds..... :) Glad I'm not the only one!Welcome New Vendors
