Ever Feel...

Too young to be married? I'm almost 28, well old enough in my book, but I look very young (average guess is about 18, and that's just when people are trying to be polite ) sometimes I feel like people are trying to figure out how old I am...am I just paranoid?

yes I do. I mean, I look really young too, but more so, I feel it. I guess sometimes I can't believe I am married. It seems so grown-up.

I often feel like I am not 26 years old...like I'm not a grown up yet...but I've yet to hear that I'm too young to be married. I sometimes wish we got married younger or met at a younger age

We are 25 and have been married for nearly two years and we constantly get crap because we look alot younger then we are.

Dh looks young for his age, but I look alot younger. Even when he has new friends over from work they always say something when I'm drinking... about if I am even old enough!

It is real hard for me to find a job in my field because of it as well, but I have been told that when I wear my glasses instead of contacts I look about 19... argh

I know everyone says it is good to look young but its annoying right now when I looked at wedding dresses most places thought I was there for Sweet 16!

Dh calls me his child bride because of it.. argh

For example just yesterday movers came from my parents old house to my house in Florida they asked me if I was Mrs. B (my mom's granddaughter? and asked where my mom was when I opened the door before I spoke! ***

When we looked at engagement rings, Dh was walking around with about 5 grand in his pocket (I didn't know about at the time) and we went to the sunrise mall we went into jewerly stores just to look for the first time and one of the employees walks up to us and goes 'wow, your little lady has expensive taste
but I think you would be more comfortable buying the .25 carat stones and we have layaway!'
Dh was fuming when the lady said that and then felt the need to show her what he had and said he no longer felt the need to spend his money there and we left!

Stuff like that happens to us all the time.

I guess we don't feel like we look to young to be married because we are loving it, but it seems like alot of society feels we or atleast I look too young. Luckily alot of the military community is young and married so it was alot worse up north.

I feel your pain!

We are dreading the looks I get when we have a baby!

I was just thinking that the other day - we were waiting to be seated at a restaurant and people kept looking at us because we were sitting close together and holding hands or something. I felt like everyone was looking at us and thinking that we were too young.....but i'm 28 and Tom is 25!
We;re not that young!
But I look like I'm about 18.....so I guess I'm self-conscious!
(I'm a teacher, so everyday I have to deal with people asking me if I'm a student )

I look much younger than I am too. I got married at 21, dh was 24. We're going on 7 years this autumn and after 7 years and 2 kids, I don't mind the 'wow! You look so young' comments anymore. People keep thinking I'm the babysitter instead of the mom but I keep telling myself that it'll all pay off when I'm 50 but look 35!

When I was getting my hair done at the salon for my wedding my hair dresser told me the ladies were all placing bets on how old I was.

Some of the women thought I was getting my hair done for my prom!

The avg guess was about 20...I am 28!

LOL! Girls, people think I look twelve too (ok, not really 12).

But I'm THIRTY SIX!!!

And frankly, I'm sick of hearing the 'oh you won't mind people thinking you are young when your 50 or whatever'. YES I WILL!!! IT'S VERY ANNOYING AND FIFTEEN MORE YEARS OF IT WON'T MAKE IT ANY LESS ANNOYING!!!

I'm 23 and I feel young. I'm the youngest one in my family but the first one to get married. I guess it's how you act that's important.

I'm 34 but everyone thinks I'm 26. I WISH I were 26 again and married too! I hate that I got started so late in life. 34 isn't old, but I feel like I'm in a rush to start a family. I don't want to be an old mom!
