everyone loves a slow cooker post

So i am DETERMINED to break out the slow cooker this weekend and think I will start with the raved about chicken and BBQ sauce .. you know .. keep it simple on the first try..

Anywho - WHAT kind of chicken do i buy? a whole one? the chopped up parts with the bones and skin still on? kinda embarassing but this part i am clueless on...

Also, what should i make with? mashed potatoes?

Your first slowcooker meal this weekend was supposed to be for ME but my SIL had to go and break her hip and put our weekend in limbo and make me cancel dinner plans TOTALLY TEASING..I love my SIL and can't wait to love on her!

What about sweet potato fries as a side? Peel and chop 2 sweet potatoes, toss in a ziplock and fill with olive oil/salt/pepper to evenly coat, spray baking sheet with non-stick stuff, bake on 350 for as long as you see fit. Try to keep an eye on them at about 25 mins...they are so sweet and crunchy and great when they start to get dark but obvi before they char!

Yes thankfully due to your cancellation i dont have to clean my apartment ha.

LOVE sweet potato fries. not sure matt does but maybe I'll make them for me.

BUT what kind of CHICKEN do i buy???

NOt a silly question at all! I was wondering the same thing yesterday! I'm not a fan of chicken on the bone so I'm going to try it with just chicken cutlets and the BBQ sauce and hope I don't use too much sauce and it comes out great!

I used breasts and dumped in the entire bottle of bbq sauce...I also felt compelled to put some chicken stock in the pot just so all of the chicken was submerged. I put it on high for 4 hours. The chicken was like falling apart tender...next time I will make pulled chicken sandwiches on potato rolls with extra bbq sauce!

Ask becca though - she's the pro!

When I do bbq chicken in the crock pot I like to do either chicken legs or chicken wings. Then I coat them in a mixture of bbq sauce and honey and let them cook for about 4 hours on high. Actually, this was last night's dinner
