Extramarital Affairs commercial

Company for cheaters

Watching the ads that run during football games, one might think that the NFL will allow anybody to advertise. From beer to candy bars to investment companies, it seems that, while advertisers are varied, they share one common denominator: When seeking the coveted football fan demographic, tastefulness runs a distant second to raw idiocy and a willingness to pander to the lowest common denominator.

This makes it all the more surprising that the Super Bowl recently determined that some things go beyond the pale of acceptable advertisements. Ashley Madison, a matchmaking service for people seeking extramarital affairs, was informed that, not only was it not permitted to advertise in the Super Bowl program, but it would not be allowed to advertise in any NFL game program, ever.

while it sickens me that companies like this exist and that there is obviously customers for that type of website- not understanding why NFL is saying no to the ad- is it any worse than targeting teens for budweiser?

Maybe it's that the beer commercials don't actually show underage drinking...where this one there really isn't any way that you could misinterpret the meaning...

now we all know that teens eat up ads for things like budweiser, but beer commercials always have 'drink responibly' and fine print ads talking about age limits, etc...they are geared towards adults and they don't encourage getting wasted - kwim?? they leave it to the public to do what they choose with it... they also promote a LOT of anti-drug commercials which is a good thing...

However, supporting adultery??? huge HUGE difference imo. i'm not in support of alcohol or tobacco commercials - but i think this is just stooping REAL freakin' low. It's not just this - there are many MANY commercials that are way too racy/inappropriate for regular tv imo...heck, even the victoria's secret commercials are starting to bother me.... Regardless of the married men/women, etc - there are too many youngsters that watch the games, or even just tv for that matter. do u know my TWO YEAR OLD nephew used to run into the room when the runway vs commercial would come on because he'd hear the music?? initially funny, yes.. but really - it annoys the sh*t out of me.. our world is FILLED with sex/alcohol/drugs, etc.. and don't even get me started on all the sex themed ads like the axe body spray, etc... where they show people pretty much having sex on television.. i can not stand that while i'm watching daytime tv with my 5year old nieces & nephews that those ads come on... it's scary because yea, u can gaurd ur children from certain shows & such - but now the commercials are filled with it! So when my little nephews are watching the games with their dads - their heads are being subliminaly filled with sex, alcohol, etc... sorry if i sound like a nut right now, this is just a vent because it's something that legitimately bothers me.

ANYWAYS, lol, vent over. I'm more than happy that they banned ashley maddison commercials off the NFL channel... because i dont think this world should ever actually ENCOURAGE adultery/infidelity. The world has enough problems.. there is no need to plant more seeds of curiosity in people.

They talk about AshleyMadison on Z100 on the morning show. Everyone gets so heated because people who do this call in and it irritates the crap out of people. So glad they won't be showing this commercial on the superbowl. It pisses me off that there are even sites like this out there. Here's an idea-don't get married if you want to cheat.

btw - just to add that when the hubby & i first saw this( we sactually only saw it one time & one time only so i'm assuming a lot of viewers must have complained??) but the dh was even appalled. I was in the kitchen & he actually called me into the room just to see it. we actually thought it was a fake/really bad joke at first - we raced to the computer & sure enough, it exists lol.

here is the link to the commercial for those that have never seen it. it's horrible..especially the slogan at the end. anyways, here - can't believe the human race actually stooped this low

The beer commercials don't target teens since it's illegal for them to drink. These commercials target married folks which is unethical.

while I understand what you are saying about the adultry commercials and yes, I think they suckk- I dont agree that beer companies do not target teens- remember the budweiser frogs? or the whats up commercials- those were blatantly aimed at teens and the NFL played them. I guess I am just annoyed as a consumer & a marketer that they are determining that one brand of sleaze is worse than an other. So that was my rant

Yeah I mean I know there are people out there who are going to cheat on their spouses for whatever reason but the fact that there is a website that promotes it is sickening to me.

That is SICK. The company's logo is 'life is short - have an affair!' OMG!!!! And the president's letter says the company is for 'people who are in a relationship but want more.' UGH! If you want more, FIND SOMEONE ELSE WHO CAN GIVE YOU MORE AND BREAK UP WITH THE PERSON YOU ARE WITH. It's just crazy!!!!!
