I got the WORST eyebrow wax of my entire life this weekend. All of the skin around my brows is red, bumpy and irritated. Does anyone know how I can heal this quickly???

Re: Eyebrow wax
That happened to me once. My skin was all swollen for almost a week! Did you try putting an icepack on it?

Re: Eyebrow wax
I tried Neosporin, but it seems to be making it worse. I'm going to try ice now. Thanks ladies.

Re: Eyebrow wax
A cortisone creme may help...there are ones with lotions too.

Re: Eyebrow wax
How about some witch hazel? Oh God, I'm starting to sound like my mother!!! Or some aloe? Oh, I know how you feel! I have sensitive skin on a good day, but the last time I got my eyebrows done, they burned me and left a little mark, so I haven't gone since November!! Feel better sweety!!

Re: Eyebrow wax
Okay, the ice brought the swelling down, and now I just put on the cortisone cream. I'll let you know if it works. I'm not looking forward to going to school like this!!!!

Re: Eyebrow wax
Eyebrow waxes are always hit or miss. I get nervous each time. Try cocoa butter (100% in the stick) that is very good for swelling.

Re: Eyebrow wax
IF the Neosporin is making it worse, definately STOP USING IT! I only urge that because of my mistake. I was told by my doctors to always use neosporin to prevent scars and help healing...well, I've always used it, and Broke Out in a Rash, and it always made the healing site worse...Well, brilliant me...it took me about 2 years to figure out that I'm allergic to Neosporin and Bacitracin! Go figure!!

Re: Eyebrow wax
wow - did you go to a new place? I got a horrible wax once, but it was a new salon and they didn't know what they were doing! I usually have minor irritation, but by the next day the swelling has gone down.
It's amazing what us women put up with for beauty

Re: Eyebrow wax
I was once told a tepid tea bag will help with swelling. I have a great place to go to in the East Meadow area , Fm mail me if you want for info.

Re: Eyebrow wax
The place I went to isn't new, but it's new to me. Not only did they botch my waxing, they also gave me the WORST pedicure I have ever had. The woman DID NOT touch my feet the entire time. Impossible, you say?? I would have thought so too, but sadly it's not. Granted, I don't have the most beautiful feet in the world, but they aren't scary either. And to think I only went there because there was no parking at my usual place. I should have circled the lot a few more times.
Thanks Princess, but East Meadow is waaaay too far for me!

Re: Eyebrow wax
I don't think anyone has nice feet! (esp. me!) LOL But as a person who does pedicures, they need to get over it or find another job Unfortunately, botch jobs happen - but once you get a bad result you appreciate the better places that much more!!
