I know for a fact that the Michael Myers mask thing is true.

And I also think the 'no clocks in vegas casinos' is also true.........

stupid question......why are there no clocks in vegas casinos-im failing to understand why

I'm not sure, but its probably ( this just an educated guess) because they want people to gamble and not keep track of themselves or the time. Lets face it, when you lose, casinos win.

thats what I was thinking...but wasnt sure if there was an actual like 'thing' with clocks

The Rule of Thumb thing is false---has nothing to do with beating your wife. Its is nowhere found in British common law since it came to surface in 1692

Actually, I heard this on the History channel, however it was in the US, not Europe (I assumed the law may have stemmed over there.) that a man can not hit a woman with a object no bigger than his thumb. It is still a blue law. I'm racking my brain trying to remember what state it is. I have one of those memories where I'll remember a lot of useless facts, but my brain doesn't absorb all the details.

More thing. If broccoli had a mouth it would scream! It has an IQ of I believe 7 and a nervous system. Yeah I was bored. Sorry!

wha??

Yes, my DH read. When he gets home I'll ask where. But I've asked a few other people about this, (a few bio majors I know) and they said the same thing. If broccoli had a mouth, it would scream when it was cut. sorry I forgot to add that part.

mmmmm I love brocori

Hmmm well this is REALLY good news, since I HATE BROCCOLLI and I will squeal with glee the next time I bite into some. Hmmm lunchtime approaches...

I'f I were a vegetarian it would not be because I love animals, but rather because I hate plants.'

I'm bored at work as well and I did a seach---this is what I found:

1) There are no windows in casinos. Gamblers have no idea whether it's light or dark or sunny or rainy outside.

2) There are no clocks. Dealers are forbidden from wearing watches. Time becomes meaningless.

This article gives some insight

Seems that many believed that 'rule of thumb' was derived from british common law--however the etymology of the idea that it was about beating your wife seems to be derived from only a handful of cases in the South from years ago. it was actually never a law. its a common misconception that 'wife beating' was legal in this country, especially in the south, at one point. while it may not have been actually LEGAL, there were cases where cases were dismissed since the judges didn't think the case had merit. (a totally different situation obviously)
